G8Xs are going for 120k here, used. So 165 seems about right.

OK

supplemental to my earlier posting regarding firm deposits being solicited in Australia for the M4 CSL, according to my contacts, apparently production is set to commence on June 6th, 2022.

Horrifyingly, it is likely that there will be a 50 Jahre celebration model of M4 altogether separate (not the CSL). In fact, it seems there might be 50 Jahre version of EVERY M in the line-up (obviously this is not official, or official yet so please don't go quoting me on it as gospel)

Hi All,

got also the call from BMW last Friday - the list was opened and also closed within the same day on last Friday for Austria.

and yes , I am on the list and really hope that the CSL is more related to the E46 CSL rather than the later GTSs.

Cheers from Austria

Interesting how Austrian and Australian dealers needed to firm up their orders last week. I'm in Canada and they've heard nothing yet.

Must be alphabetical!

Interesting. I received my M5 CS last June (Canada) which I thought was relatively early for that model.

I may be talking out of my ass too. My experience shows me that cars usually hit international markets first as they're all European models, except in NA. If you search you'll find a guy that got the first M2 or 1M in Mexico and drove it to the US, earlier than everyone else.

I understand the M5 CS might have been a global launch, so dates are the same possibly.

Same for the CSL, but then why the allocations need to be secured earlier might be related to models being released there earlier.

You're only third in line (alphabetically speaking) so I wouldn't worry much about it

Funny you say that because my guy said all RH-Drive specimen including Australia destined cars will be manufactured in 2022 only - I took that as: all US-destined vehicles will be manufactured last as was the case with the M2 CS. If so, that means all, or most cars heading to US will be manufactured in 2023

I did notice that Canada seemed to receive our M5 CS's earlier than the US so perhaps we're bundled with other markets? The US is one of the the most litigious nations and I believe has very strong consumer protection laws.

I could be wrong but for the above reasons, I always assumed automakers preferred to sell initial builds to countries other than the US. In other words - detect and address any design/manufacturing defects appearing in other markets before cars get sold into the US.

I think it's just that DOT regulations differ from European ones, which meet most international destinations.

Canadian cars are DOT compliant, so they are akin to US cars (except for DRLs).

What about roll bars? McLaren 675LT's sold in Canada were able to spec the titanium harness bar/roll hoop but American cars were not. I understood there to be a difference in safety regulations between those countries.

Unfortunately Porsche has decided to treat Canada and US markets as one, otherwise we'd be able to option roll bars in their GT cars.

I'm not sure, I was referring to BMWs. Even then, anecdotally.

No date yet. But expect new reveals all over the year from M because of their 50. anniversary.

New M4 CSL closeup pics and first look at the CSL seats / interior. The carbon fiber bucket seats feature even more carbon fiber than the standard CF buckets. And we can now see a large CSL plaque to provide some eye candy for the space opened up by the rear seat delete.

The new design of the CF seats at quick glance has the same front grill design language with the large open air ducts and limited horizontal slants.
