G82 M4 competition traps 150+ MPH bone stock in the 1/2 mile

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Has anybody else seen this video posted by TrackDayTV? This MPH territory is ZL1/Z06/Hellcat/M5 range. I guess I'm just super shocked that the top end is really that good on this car. The 60-130 mph he did was 9.35s which is in line with other stock G8x's so there's no piggyback whatsoever. Insane though

Yes the top end is very impressive! I can tell coming from my CS to a G80. G80 has almost 10mph over it in the 1/2 mile! Dynos show around 100whp difference at 7k rpm over the CS.

Impressive what it did compared to the F82 CS. From day one I wasn't a fan of this cars design. Still am not but damn this thing performs

Nice run but they really need to work on their script and delivery. Felt like less of a review and more "how many unfunny jokes can we fit into 10 minutes?"

I watch this channel from time to time because the videos are clean and the run format is relevant.

The dialogue at the end and some of the jokes are easily overcome by the visuals and data supplied IMHO.

2020 G82 Comp 510 Hp weight of 3767 lbs does top speed of 151.xx

2020 Carrara S 443 hp, 3,537 lbs does top speed of 149.xx

Diff of 67 hp and 230 lbs.

2 mile diff.

Interesting, very different cars, again, I am sure you could work out the math and reasons why. Aero etc... very cool.

Clinical review. I'm a fan of this channel.

I was surprised to see the M5 more than a second behind the E63S in the circuit rankings.

Impressive numbers. For comparison, this car is 1 sec slower in 60-130 mph than my 2020 M5C, and 1/2 mile speed of 151 mph is solid vs M5C of 154-156 mph. Most of the speed difference with the M5C is in the 0-100 mph range. The M4 times basically tie my GT3RS times on both measures. Similar acceleration, but M4 will be slower on a high speed circuit due to downforce and lower weight with the Porsche. The fact that it's close with a car that's a pure track weapon and double the money is impressive. Just don't confuse a 3RS for a 2RS and try a 1/2 mile pull. Exit speed on that one was 168.7 mph in my test. 😎Great job BMW on building a very capable car that is still reasonably approachable for people!

Wow. Your GT2RS trapped 169 mph in the 1/2 bone stock? I knew they were fast, but that's wild!

This is the second highest trap speed I've seen. It's done 168.77 mph in another run. Yup, 100% bone stock.

This S58 is clearly underrated from the factory as most of us already know. And these numbers are valid proof of that.
