Overall I think it's a fair review. Although it's interesting, based off his expressions and reactions he seemed to have more fun driving the M3.

not sure if anyone cross shop these...if you need 4 doors, well you need 4 doors end of the story.

There is no competition between BMW and Porsche.
Just marketing

Nope they are so different and the 911 is so much more rewarding to drive in every sense of meaning.

Also I look back at the 911

New 911 looks like a$$…the new gt3 with all the black plastic is terrible.

Having owned 991s and 3 M3s, these cars are just so different, and comparing them really just doesn't make sense except to generate content on a slow day. The quality and driving of the 911 is just on another level than the M3 (and even the M8.) The m3 is easier to push to the limits than the 911. If you want to push the 911 to the edge, you need to be a good driver with experience. Porsche is a superior brand and that's okay. Different price points for a reason. Either car you end up with, you will have a smile on your face.

I would love a 911, but for where I am right now, even if they were the same price or the 911 was cheaper, I still would have gone for the G80. I have two car seats in my G80, it's my daily, and also has 3 pedals and 500hp. For me the G80 is the ultimate package, there is really no other car on the market that compares in terms of what I need it to do. It is just an epic car, and the fact every day there are articles about more car makers going electric (I read today MB is planning to be all electric by end of the decade), just makes it all the better

Couldn’t have said it any better. My car goal is to get into a 911 GT3. Just need that bigger garage and home first.

Yeah, 4 door sports sedan vs 2 door sports car, makes no sense. Let's do a Subaru BRZ or Mazda Miata VS M4 comparison to level the playing field. Kidding, but it is aggravating….

They got a really boring 911 spec. White, small wheels, black interior. :/

Not a level playing field, but if they want to compare our cars to almighty Porsche it can only be a compliment.

Based on my multiple back-to-back 992 C2S/G82 drives, I believe they're actually surprisingly close. The Porsche is the superior drive as expected. The G82 offers a tantalizingly low-compromise ownership experience, while coming in with a very competitive drive. Looks aside, I wouldn't be surprised to see BMW M peel off a few Porsche customers with the G8x's better practicality and increased comfort with little practical performance penalty.
