Pricing Leverage?

I will be ordering a G83 when the window opens up. Does anyone have any advice on negotiating for a newly released car when you are specially ordering it? I've bought two BMWs from my dealer in the last 6 years. I am not sure if that gives me any leverage or not. How have people approached this? Or are you pretty much at the mercy of the dealer in this circumstance?

You can buy a BMW from any dealer in the US. My best advice to you and anyone is to shop around multiple dealers.

when you get quote get the full breakdown of the quote. % off MSRP is only half the deal. If you finance check the rate and fees if you lease check the MF and the fees

lastly make sure you are getting a allocation and not sitting around waiting for your dealer to get a allocation (no production number means no allocation) which could take a long time depending on various factors.

before you order get the deal done and in writing so no surprises when the car arrives

happy hunting

GOLFRR, when selling to someone out of state, is it common to have the car shipped to the customer or is it mainly/only a pick it up from the dealer and drive it home kind of transaction?

I’ve never done this so I’m curious what the options are. I recently inquired a BMW motorcycle dealer in California state about a specific bike and they said they don’t ship themselves but have many customers who arrange it privately, usually around $300. Is it the same for a BMW car, that it can be done by a 3rd party shipper or does the dealer provide the service?

depending on your location there are a variety of options.

1. pick up the car at the dealer
2. courtesy delivery, pick up car at dealer near you (sometimes a fee is attached)
3. performance center delivery (free)
4. shipped to you (fee is attached)

if shipped dealer helps coordinate the process. We have contact with a bunch of 3rd party shippers We sell like I said all over the US its a pretty seamless process we have been doing it for over a decade now.

Highly recommend a PCD if you are a reasonable drive from one of them. The experience is great and then you get a nice long test drive back with your new car, which also as a side benefit helps eat into the break in miles.
