From my understanding, the MPHAS will finally be offered and this will be great to add to the build sheet when ordering car.

This is what I plan to do considering this would be my DD first and foremost with only 1-2 track days a year. If anything I would eventually add camber plates... full-blown coil overs would be nice but probably wasted on me with my usage (unless stock ride quality is trash and coils would make it infinitely better ).

Exactly the way I specced it on the configurator 👌🏼 Brooklyn Grey looks a little lighter in the photos, but great colour

That would be amazing if it was available from the start. Wouldn't it have been highlighted with the other M Performance Parts however?

The new 2021 X2 Mesh Edition also features Brooklyn Grey. The press shots were taken at sunset so it's kind of hard to judge the true color, but it seems very close to a lighter Nardo.

https://f48.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1762280

I'm kind of torn now. I currently have a Nardo F80, and was planning on ordering a Nardo G80. I don't like BG as much as Nardo, but it does seem very close and would save me ~5K.

If I'd be getting a G8X, it is the colour I'd pick . Will work super well with CF accents.

MP-HAS is mentioned in the press release and the red/black M-Performance M3 press show car is wearing it. But, consistent with the rest of the G8X release, the focus of the M-Performance parts was mostly on the "looks".

Quote:
Suspension and sound even more closely linked to motorsport.

The M Performance sports suspension was developed and tuned on various different racetracks and is also directly associated with motor racing. The coilover suspension permits an infinitely variable reduction of ride height of between five and twenty millimetres (recommended lowering -10 mm vs. the M base model). With unchanged damper adjustment, the driver benefits from a lower centre of gravity, reduced rolling movement and even higher cornering speeds. In addition to increased dynamics, lowering also enhances the sporty looks.

IMHO in some pictures it looks ok but in almost every video the front just looks like a giant slant nose. Almost like its leaning over the front end. Those edited pictures of the BGM are misleading to say the least as well. Probably had to add a filter because it looked like doodoo without it (really don't want that to be true).

Missed that, thank you. Do you think its strange that its a full coilover suspension yet it uses the same dampers? Also, the recommended drop of 10 mm (and you're stupid if you go more because it will impact handling) is <.4". For aesthetics, it's not worth it. It's gotta be a $4k+ option.

Thanks for this. Why do they have to make everything into an SUV, just leave the hatchbacks alone! Anyway, color looks lighter as you say but yeah, hard to tell. I'm also planning to go Nardo, but honestly the added time is more an issue than the cost for me, I'm too impatient and despise my (my wife's) current car.

Misnomers and semantics.

A front macpherson strut suspension is a "coilover" by definition. The rear setup on the F8X/G8X, not so much. Even the GTS is labelled as having a "coilover" suspension in the rear when the spring and damper are mounted separately. On the other hand, the M4 GT4 uses a true rear coilover.

In the aftermarket jargon, the term "coilover" is often misused to define a spring/damper kit even if they are not true "coilovers".

That was the case for the MPHAS on the F8x.

Yes, and was also advertised as a "coilover" .

And we were all confused as sh*t waiting for the actual "coilovers" to be released...

Man those pics make it look so different than OPs pics. I guess the right angles can make anything look good. That interior too, what were they thinking Blue/yellow and black?

Fantastic, it is even lighter in daylight and seem to have some more depth than the Nardo spectrum with some blue hues. I think I’m in.

The Kayalami orange interior could be nicer than Silverstone with it though.

Thanks for posting!

To each their own, but I've never been able to get down with this dirty dishwater grey trend going around.

I'm shocked to admit it, but that pig nose actually looks passable with all the other aggressive design elements throughout the car. I'm sure it'll be even better in person.

I still want to see Isle of Man and tanzanite on the M3. The grey is ok, but i prefer other colors. Although that interior color in my mind does not go as well with the grey. I mean blue and grey? Lol

This may actually be the exact same car as the OP but like you said it does not look as attractive in those newer pics...

I still think Brooklyn Grey will be my choice but definitely the K Orange interior for me. I will have to see most colors in person to decide and luckily I have the luxury of doing that while I wait to order an AWD
