When will they be at US dealers?
Any concrete info on if they are going to hold all cars at the port until March or will they release to dealers ahead of that but they cant release to customers?
One dealer I'm talking to has an M4 they claim they will have this month but I'm not confident they know that for sure. Have any of the dealers on here heard anything from BMW?

My local dealer continues to tell me they really don't know what BMW's plan is as far as when they will get the cars for sure and allocations etc. They have an HEA car slotted they hope to come this month as they keep telling me but we are tracking it and it went from in transit a couple of weeks ago to now says at the port which is a backwards move which tells me there holding them.
My hopes are not high they will get it this month and if they do they don't even know if they can sell it till March. It just keeps getting more frustrating as I just want to see one of these things in the flesh and get it over with lol. It feels like Christmas morning just keeps getting pushed out. |

From our understanding some are sitting at port stateside and just waiting for EPA approval. Then they can be released.

I just talked to my dealer and the car they have coming has been sitting at the port now for 2 weeks with no carrier scheduled. He now believes that BMW is holding them closer to the March launch date.
If this is true I'm pretty disappointed honestly. Originally he thought they were going to get the car this month but their getting little information. |

A dealer here in Houston has at least 2 on the way, but like others have said no exact time of when they will arrive. I just need to see them in person before I place my order.

Same here in New Jersey my dealer has one coming by end of Feb or early March he says but is a manual. I'm looking for an automatic so I will need to wait even longer, it looks that most of the early dealer allocations are manual.

Nothing from BMW yet, anything at this time is a guess.

My G82, which is an HEA allocation, is due at the port of Brunswick, GA on 26 Jan. The ship carrying the car has already discharged some of it cargo (e.g. BMW’s) in NJ. The info from my dealer is the same as reported here - there is no info to report on when the cars will be at the dealers or when the cars will be released for sale. Ugghhh! Wish I knew the logic behind it all. A lot of inventory being held; cash flow must not be a problem. BTW, I did receive an e mail blast from BMW NA this week advertising/build your own M3/M4. Perhaps the launch date is nearer than we’ve been told. I know —— wishful thinking!

The build your own shows me multiple matches coming soon to 2 dealers near me. Last time I did a build your own it showed nothing. Not sure what their idea of soon is though. Might help to actually have one of these friggin things at a dealership for people to see. Doesn't mean you can't hold them until whenever for sale but get the demos to the dealers already.

For what it's worth, I was just told by my dealer in South Florida with whom I've had a great relationship for years that the reason the automatic cars are being stopped at the port is that they need to update/fix something to do with the transmission. He told me to be expecting a 6mt car much sooner than an auto.
Again, just relaying a message I received from my dealership and have no evidence of the claim.

That could explain why all the cars that are coming to my dealer next month all are manual and the order I place on early December for an M3 Competition still without a production number.

Westbury NY. He did say out the tri-state it would be insanely difficult to find allocations cause of the demand
