When can I order a G83?
Hello. I am ordering a G83 M4 xDrive, and it will be my first M purchase. Production supposedly starts July 2021. When do you think ordering will open up? Do you think we will be looking at a Fall delivery? Is BMW ever delayed in their releases or is this a pretty good estimate?

Are we sure the G83 M-xDrive SOP is 7/2021? I suppose it sort of says that in the future models thread, but not quite 100% clear with his punctuation there. I think it could at least make sense that if M-xDrive is launching in July and the G83 is launching in July, that it would be available. If so, yes, you could likely expect a Fall delivery.

It is 99% certain the vert will only come as Mxdrive (only thing remaining is the official bmw presser)
-official ordering will not start till late spring likely right in line with the rest of the 2022 changeover for the 3 and 4 - however if you need fall delivery I would chat with your dealer(s) now about locking up one of their first allocations. Although they will not have a specific date for you if you end up 3rd or 4th in line that could mean a winter delivery. |

The M4 convertible hasn't been announced yet. It will start production in July, 2021.

I bet they will not start production in July 2021 due to COVID-19. Germany just recorded the most daily cases since the start of the pandemic. Hopefully it does not get pushed into 2022.

Any update on G83 orders? Last I heard, my dealer was talking about June orders and delivery around September. Does anyone have any confirming/conflicting information?

So with a bit of luck, I'd say beginning of June sounds about right for taking orders... But then again there hasn't been a press release about it yet.. whereas the AWD M3/M4 have had a press release mid-April for a July production... so maybe BMW is thinking of releasing the G83 a bit later on in the year, who knows!
