When I put my brother's M8 VIN....an E90 320d was shown in the system.....

p.s. by the way...I'm still waiting for updates on my M3 status....hope it is into production.....as it should be since the last update was still confirmed for week 40.

I woke up this morning to see my car is at port. It took almost one week for it to arrive there. My car was completed on Wednesday of last week if I am not mistaken.

I haven't checked with Genius or my CA yet but it seems like most don't truly find out until it either gets out on a boat or even arrives stateside. My fingers are crossed that I'll be able to avoid any stop sales but my hopes aren't high and at the end of the day there is zero control I have over it so I'm not trying to stress too much about it.

My SA told me there are none on my car. However I'm still in quality check, so I am taking that with a grain of salt considering others found out about stop-sales after arrival at VPC.

Ya'll are probably all going to be at the VPC with stop sales, sorry to break it to you. There's a huge RAM shortage (Receiver Audio Module) affecting just about everyone right now and made worse by the Malaysian Shutdown. There's guys who have been waiting almost two months at the VPC for this part. All the cars ahead have to be resolved first. In fact in case anyone hasn't seen it there's a memo that just passed recently (I think end of last month) talking about the RAM shortage issue and how it's going to delay new M3 builds.

I'm Week 38 and breezed through production. At the port waiting for a ship now and have been told i'm affected by the RAM stop sale.

I heard that a 1-month supply of chips arrived at the factory and they began putting them into the car produced immediately after yours

But in all seriousness, I would not be surprised at all. I'm sure there's a huge backlog at the VPC too even if they do get shipments in.

I have a feeling we will randomly feel frustrated/elated. We don't know if they're getting in chips in small batches (enough to add to say a hundred or so cars at a time) then running out, or not at all for extended periods. Could be totally random depending on the day your car is built.

When you'll be disappointed....you have to think at me. MIne was due to be produced on week40 (after being delayed from week 35). Now.....the production date is in december (week48).

So.....even disappointed, you'll be lucky!

Damn, 10/21…was hoping I'd have the car by Thanksgiving (barring no stop sales) but even that appears not likely.

Edit: Although that 10/21 ship is taking a week less than the others so there is a slight chance of delivery before Turkey day. Still will likely get stuck with a stop sale though…
