This is sick!! I love how it ties in some of the grille traits from the rest of the lineup while still looking unique. I am a traditionalist in the sense that I *like* model design cohesion. The M8 feels that much closer in relation to an M4 and that's pretty cool.

Not sure how it will look with the rest of the lines and contours of the car, it's a mess overall in terms of a mix and match of design languages. 4 series especially - its not a cohesive design that looks like a different car from different angles.

I actually think it looks worse with the smaller grills. The lines descending from the hood make them look like little flared nostrils. Yuck.

Either way, BMW will make their money on those who choose an aftermarket bumper. It'll be no different and any other iteration (..e.g...all of the ridiculous wide body kits and ostentatious front end mods). It's still a win!

I think the side vents improve the design more than the smaller grill. The bigger grill doesn't look bad combined with the different bumper.

I prefer some of the Prior Design grilles over the OEM. A big improvement, and I have seen the cars in person also.
Doubt I'm game enough to actually see the change through. Someone else raised airbag performance, ANCAP etc. That does worry me, but also something else. If there ever was an issue under the hood, and you had an aftermarket front bumper, then I suspect that BMW would simply blame the new bumper, citing cooling and airflow changes versus OEM. Thereby denying warranty benefit, even if their diagnosis is complete BS. Would be hard to counter I reckon. I'd take a used manual G80 past warranty, and swap the grille. |

? 8 series clone basically? Why even bother with the new M3/M4, just buy the M8 instead...
I'll be laughing at anyone who mods their M3/M4 backwards, the new design will age your modded bumper side by side. |

I just want to say...
I absolutely still hate the regular 4er front bumper and grill even after seeing it in person. I'm actually "okay" with new M3/M4 front bumper and grill, don't hate it, don't love it. But not enough for me to want to replace our M2 with one. But damn, I absolutely love this and would be all over this design!!! |

I don't understand this thought process of age. The M8 is a current car, which will be sold alongside the G8x. It's not aged, its current. You could use that argument if it was an F8x bumper on a G8x car, but not here.

This one looks great, Prior Design way to go for looking into a design alternative.
