I live in Germany and I know you can but you will need to pay all the fees to have it converted from Euro spec to US spec. My friend had a Euro spec car shipped to the states and it cost him about $12K to have it converted. This included the software, emissions, lights, etc... If you ever want a car that is over 20 years old shipped to the states you do not need any conversion.

I don't think so, at the end of the day the car isn't crash tested to US standards and therefore wont pass. If bmw releases a special edition of it, it will be possible to import under show and display only after production has ended.
