Get the EBC yellow stuff, it's an all-around upgrade over stock.

If I was to get a new G82 now, this is the first upgrade I would do. The brake squeak is embarrassing

Description of the yellows on buybrakes.com

Description
Yellowstuff brake pads are EBC’s flagship top-selling high friction brake pads made suitable for fast streetcars, trucks, and SUVs in need of a decent brake power upgrade. Unlike most race pads, the Yellowstuff pads do not require warm-up to perform at their best. They offer excellent cold bite coupled with high-temperature fade resistance. The pads’ edge chamfers and shims help reduce vibration noise, while the centerline slots keep the rotor and pads clean by channeling dirt, dust, water, and debris away from these components. All EBC Yellowstuff pads feature the Nucap NRS technology that creates a permanent bond with the friction material, offering you quieter, longer-lasting brake pads.

While the Yellowstuff pads provide improved performance, you may find yourself cleaning your wheels more often. These pads have a higher dust rating than most pads. But if you don’t mind sacrificing a bit for performance, then the Yellowstuff is sure the way to go for your racing, towing, and even daily driving needs. Professional installation is recommended when you decide to get a set of these pads for your vehicle to ensure your safety and the safety of others.

I'm thinking they might be an improvement in eliminating the noise, but by their description I would question any noticeable decrease in dust.

keep in mind this description applies to all brake pads, so yellow is dustier than OEM brakes. But Toyota or even a BMW 328 brakes are not as dusty as the M3/M4 brakes.

From my personal experience, the yellow is not dustier than my OEM M4 Comp brakes but I would not really care if they were to be honest.
I wanted more stopping power and no brake squeal.

There's dust and then there's bmw dust, two totally different things. When bmw owners talk about dust their silver wheels are black now. When non bmw owners talk about dust they see a light film of it on their rims, but they're still silver.

I paid the dealership a visit on Saturday and mentioned the brake squeaking. They said it's not uncommon and hard to prevent.

But they did apply this spray to the brakes and the sqeaking has since completely disappeared, though it will probably come back at some point.

I've ordered the spray so I can do it myself.

It'll start squeaking again soon, unfortunately.

The only way to prevent it is by upgrading the brake pads.

Hopefully this answers a couple of queries.

The reason for the sqeeking is down to the tollarance between the pad and the caliper, as these are performance breakes they have a larger gap between the pad and caliper when cold.

When used agressively the pad get hotter this fills the tolerance gap, still maintaining braking performance without addional pressure on the pad housing/caliper (things expand when they get hot).

After a few thoughts sand miles this becomes evident at the majority of people use pressure washer to clean their wheels, this washe out grease between the pads and caliper that amplifies the vibration that cause the sound sound.

If you want to reduce the sqeeking, uses copper grease every couple of thousand miles.

Or change the brake pads. Im using EBC yellow, with no squeaking, and much better-stopping power.

I am waiting for my G82 to be delivered within 2 weeks. Not happy to be reading about brake squeal and other noises. I've had 6 BMWs including an M3 and never had brake noises.

YellowStuff

After 2K or so miles, the squeaks started to appear, and only got worse. Then at about 8K miles I got the EBC Yellow, and the squeak went away for about 2-3K miles and then returned again, getting progressively worse. I'm not at 15K miles and the squeak is right back where it was at it's peak. Totally frustrating and BMW has not solution...

1) Turn the music up
2) tell your kids and your wife that high performance brakes makes this trash truck noise, my son said "cool!"
3) cruise real slow in "high embarrassment zones" I.e main streets, neighborhood to avoid braking
4) try the ebc yellow stuff to buy you a couple of thousand miles before it comes back

I've seen a thread or two about similar complains but none of those who successfully found a solution long term. Wondering if anyone has seen replacement pads or rotors that ultimately solved the squeak?

I've had my G80 since October '21. Since that time, I've noticed brake noise off and on. When I get it, I've done heavy braking and that seems to resolve the problem for a while. I have also had some success spraying water on the brakes and rotors to wash off excess dust in between car washes. I recently took a long road trip (with a dirty car) where we experienced significant rain for a good portion of the trip. Didn't have brake noise for a long time after that. Bottom line: if it has been a while since you washed your car and you don't have time to get to it, try a quick spray off of the rotors and brakes. Worked for me.

Just take the pads out and put Sil glide on the backing plate and top and bottom side where it contacts the caliper
