Ac setting question

Always wondered what “temp adjustment upper body” does?

It's the software replacement for the old temp wheel that was on BMW dashboards for a long time.

I don’t think so. Red a thread on Reddit that says this setting only controls the two center vents in between the driver and pass. Rest of the vents stay at the set numerical temp

The wheel also only controlled upper temps in older models, though I can't recall if it did anything to the side upper vents. That was the point of it.

....which is exactly what he's talking about. He's not talking about an overall system temperature dial. He's talking about a specific red/blue dial that adjusts only the temperature of the two center vents.

One of BMW's most brilliant innovations I must say.

I miss the wheel.

I’m glad it’s still available digitally, this was the one feature I was worried about losing moving from my F87 to G80.

I thought this had to do with the seat heating; setting the upper and lower to different temps. Glad to hear it's actually the replacement for the old feature!

There is a similar setting for the seat heating, although it just directs how much you want going to either the torso or legs (not temperature).

I've loved having the wheel for the past 25 years. But as something I only touched twice a year, I have no problem with it being buried in the climate menu. The functionality is the only thing that matters.

I used it a lot, but I have never used the software version. Instead of twiddling with the wheel, it's usually a degree here or there on the temp and the fan speed now.
