Just a quick comment to the convertible owners out there… It's a shame it's not offered with a manual transmission.
I sold my e92ZCP, because I couldn't fit my family in it and it was a little bit closed in. I felt selfish every time I drove it. (Solo)
However I still have our Z3 which is a blast, (and our date car without the kids) as all our Bimmers are manual tranny cars.

I'd love to get an M4 if I could get it with a manual because it would be hard to beat that sound with the top down while I'm controlling the throttle and the gearshift lever. (And then I could Sell the Z3)

Just my thoughts for today

Agreed. I'm mostly in manual mode, but yeah, not the same as a clutch.

Right there with you.

I had a manual transmission E93 M3 and ordered a G84, but would have loved to have had it in a manual again.

My E93 is now in Ontario with low miles. My dream would be to buy back....

I get it but that would mean they would have to make a lot of changes - no xdrive and no comp.

I wouldn't give up xdrive for manual. Plus they make it so much more usable as a daily. And when I'm spending 100k On a car that depreciates like a faint bowling bowl, I want to be able to use it as much as possible

I stored my E93 for the winter and plan to do the same with new car. I am stationed in Germany and have no desire to run it in the winter.

Given my personal preferences, I would take a RWD manual convertible.

I've owned nothing but manual BMW's in Michigan since 2008. How does a manual prevent someone from using the car? Assuming they know how to drive it, of course.

I think a manual helps in the snow

Agree with this. I drive a manual as a daily and I don’t even think about it, it’s second nature. That said, AWD was a must for me so I had no choice. Additionally, it’s handy when others in the family can drive the car if need be.

This comment comes off as really snarky.. like too bad for you vert owners, you bought an inferior car. It’s a shame, for you, I’m sure that the people that bought them don’t really care about your thoughts. JFC. Honestly, a lot of the manual trans guys are insufferable. #givememanualtransmissionorgivemedeath
