i live in atlanta so we arent lacking for sunny days. still feels claustrophobic. i had a 370Z convertible that i kept for 3 months because i hated driving it when the roof was up.

Hi! Does this sunroof have an intermediate mode when it hasn't shifted yet and just looks like a pop up sunroof? This looks really cool

I can count on one hand the number of times I've opened the sunroof in any of my cars. The possibility of sunroof drains clogging at some point + the number of times the roof would be opened = CF roof all day.

I open my sunroof quite often when its not to hot or too cold or raining. I like the fact the roof matches the rest of the body on my IOMG M4. I don't have the shadow line package either so my mirror caps and trunk spoiler are body color.

These are the most idiotic threads. Make your own decisions based upon your lifestyle and how you use the car. Guys who make posts like this and "what color should I get" are the type of dudes who's wives lay their clothes out.

PS. Moonroofs are for men who sit down when they pee, old men, 16 year old girls, and transgenders.

Every car and SUV I have owned had a sunroof (panoramic sunroof) . When I ordered my m3 I was truly debating which way to go as well . Ended up going with CF roof and iam soo glad I did.

Naw.. you are thinking of a convertible.

I like the large sunroof on my X3M - but absolutely not for an M3/M4 when CF is an option.

Sorry ya’ll. Had one too many Woodfords when I wrote that post and I left out convertibles. Thanks for the help brother!

Haven’t had a moon/sunroof on past 3 cars. Can’t say I miss it much. I am comically tall so any tiny extra bit of headroom is a big win for me. Also not worrying about breaking/leaking/rattling is a bonus.

Is there a change in headroom with the moonroof on the G80?

To answer the specific question of the poster who reignited this always fun moonroof-buyer flame session on Friday: Yes, you can just pop up and 'vent' the roof as one of the features. Here's a photo of my G80 in a similar pose to the pic you posted (yeah, whatever, let the mockery continue; that's right, I deliberately ditched the sacred CF roof to get a moonroof -- and I'd do it again! Use it every day )....

I was joking with my posts and it's totally a personal preference thing with color, number of doors, moonroof/ cf, etc. If I lived in LA, I would probably have a totally different spec than what I currently have. Enjoy your car bro, it's sick.

FWIW - I got the CF roof and was also debating but I went with the CF for resale value ultimately. The longer I own it, the more I think I got it wrong and wish I had opted for the moonroof.

What color is your G80? Going to order in Dravit with a sunroof, but that color will do.

Yeah, totally knew/appreciated you were joking -- and I wasn't taking it personally or anything! All in good fun as far as I was concerned.

Now about that Woodford, on the other hand: Hopefully it was the double oaked (or even better, the "double double" oaked!) you were drinking? If not, then we might need to highjack this thread to have a little discussion about your bourbon choices.

Skyscraper! I love it. Definitely a safer (boring?) choice for a G80, but it's a fantastic color. No regrets.

I ordered a CF roof with my Brooklyn grey. It looks cool and I love the contrast and extra head room.

One thing I would advise for everyone here would be to get to 10% bodyfat. As G8x owners have an image to maintain, and good looks and elite physical shape is a must in this car. The reduced bodyfat will also allow you to move around the track much quicker.
