Frustrating part about this .... zero info on what option(s) specifically are holding up the process... I contacted the dealer, genius and BMWNA - no concrete answer. I fully understand the whole parts/labor shortages etc, but giving the customer the option to remove or add options to speed up the build is something the factory should communicate to the dealer. Let the customer decide how to proceed. Just my $.02

Do you have carbon bucket seats or laser lights? I was told its one or the other.

Just called and still week 4, status 112. Up from week 2. Productivity at work has dropped to near zero.

Same boat as you. Wonder how bmw picks who's cars are being built, because there are some people that are getting vins that just got a production number a month ago.

I think we all have production numbers/order received status. If you have a VIN it is going to finish production. They do not start a build unless all the parts are there to finish the car ... so I was told by BMW genius

I can see that being the case, but some people that got vins right away basically have the same spec as me. So I'm not sure how bmw is prioritizing. I don't have carbon bucket seats, but do have laser headlights. I've heard most builds that recently got vins have lasers.
