For those of you with "special identification 2" in your build sheet

Can you guys try to press your CA and genius on what this means. Reading in the g20 forums, it seems to be related to the deletion of the touch screen but, as we all understand, the M models aren't affected.

My car should be going to production soon and want to get clarification on this. The special identification 2 hasn't been added to my build yet but, I am concerned it will.

If the Genius don't know, the CAs definitely won't. I know it's not the touchscreen, but we'll probably have to wait for someone with that to take delivery.

I have a week 44 build, stuck in QC since 11/5, with it. My vin now shows on mdecoder.com and thankfully it doesn't have 6UY (touchscreen deletion) or ZUY backup assistant deletion. I also checked mygarage using the Chrome trick, and those codes aren't there either.

And if anyone is wondering, the build code for special identification 2 is 9KB.

Why would it have either of those deletions? This has been the official list of cars impacted with no M cars affected.

Impacted models:
G20 3 Series
G22/G23 4 Series Coupe and Convertible
G26 4 Series Gran Coupe (excluding i4)
G29 Z4
G05/G06/G07 (all variants)

I know; the point was to say I don't think Special Identification 2 means touchscreen is deleted (using my car as an example).

Special identification 2 just popped up on my build for the first time today. The build has been sitting at 150 since 11/10. Hopefully it doesn’t mean I lost something I really wanted. I have been waiting so long that would really suck.

Just checked my VIN on mdecoder.com as well and I don't have any of the deletion codes either, except for 9KB. Every single option I ordered seems to be intact. I'm just confused as to what "dummy-SALAPA" means

If you're talking about mdecoder.com it won't show up there till the car is finished with production.

Just called. Genius said something along the lines of “special identification 2 refers to a code they add to the vehicle for tracking it as it moves around the factory. Sometimes it shows up on build sheets sometimes it doesn’t. Not sure why”. I clarified by asking if he’s positive and that it’s definitely not a removal of any options and he said he’s positive and he’s seen it before. So who knows I guess.

It potentially could be a marker in the system to flag whether or not your car has a stop sale. I have the “special identification 2” in my build and have 2 stop sales. Can anyone else confirm or refute this?
