recommendation for ppf and ceramic in SoCal
Hey guys,
I need some recommendation for ppf and ceramic coatin for a frozen portimao blue m3. I got a quote from a place in Corona, but it was very pricey. I want to get some quotes to compare it. Thanks.

Rhino detailing in Huntington Beach. They will beat most if not all pricing. They use xpel and have there own brand as well

I used Auto Armor in San Diego for PPF on my M4 https://autoarmour.com/paint-protection-film.
And I used Orange County Tint Shop for windshield protection https://www.octintshop.com/make-an-appointment. |

I went to Envious Detailing in Orange. I got the following package for $5k:
1-step paint correction, PPF(custom front kit including the grills, roof, side mirrors, front fenders, rocker panels, rear high impact areas), three year ceramic coating (they use Modesta). If I wanted to go full PPF, it would have been $7k. If you can afford it I highly recommend it.

I recently got my M4 Comp PPF'd, tinted and ceramic coated at Burbank Ceramic Pro. Their customer service is amazing and keep you updated throughout the entire process. Cost me $10k all up but I bought the car outright and plan to keep it for a while. I've attached some pictures below from when I picked it up.

I have taken my 12 cars to Envious in Orange over the last 13 years, no one else will ppf or ceramic any of my cars, ever!
I have 2 cars with modesta and 2 with their house line (started it in 2019). Honestly, i can't tell a difference. I know they have a entry level and a premium, i only have gotten the premium, or plus as they call it. Its just as glassy, and just as easy to clean. Picture attached for reference of my f90 competition with their in house coating after a year of washes

After owning numerous cars, this is my first time considering PPF and ceramic coating since I'll be parking outside most of the time.
However, honestly, spending that $6k+ on front end ppf and ceramic is hard to swallow. I wash my car once every 1-2 weeks and simple coat of wax every so often. In this situation, is it worth getting just ceramic coating alone? Will this save me a couple washes? I'd still have to reapply every couple months depending on the type of coating as well, right?

But I am realizing fast, that canyon drives mostly causes those rock chips and you start to notice if your's is a BSM like mine. Anyone used Private Collection Autocare? https://pcautocare.com/autodetailing/

This is exactly why I'm getting PPF on my G82. On my F82 I have Ceramic Pro Gold and although it looks amazing and makes cleaning it a trivial task, the chips are driving me crazy.

Just curious as I am in SoCal as well. Is spending $14,000 for these coatings worth it considering we live in good weather year round? I sort of get it if I lived in chicago or something with all the shit weather but here in LA what am I really protecting against? Definitely not the elements so is it the micro rock chips in the paint?

Lol I have no clue where you guys are going for these prices but I recommend you stop.. there is absolutely no reason you should ever pay more than 4,500 on a full ppf car. Front bumper and hood I payed $900. You guys are getting absolutely played like a piano because they see "money" with your new car. I promise you 10k isn't even close to the market costs. 6k isn't it either. Find a shop that'll do it right and for the right price. I'd also recommend only doing front clip ppf. ROI drops off after Front clip

I would be purchasing this car and agree with you with so cal weather, keeping me on the fence to do ppf or ceramic coating. If you get rock chips on your ppf, you still end up having to take it off/redo the wrap too. I know the original paint will be protected but maintenance wise seems just as high.
