If it is in production then you should have a VIN. I recommend asking your SA to send you a screenshot of the order in the system. If you aren't in a Status 15*, then you haven't started production. You might be scheduled, but that isn't the same thing.

When is your car supposed to go into production? Mine should have entered in Aug.

The production week threads have lots of instances of people getting bumped from one week (or month) to another. Usually, that means a delay. In rare cases, production starts earlier than planned for a future Build Week. A few people were bumped out of August.

I'm sure this has been asked, but does anyone know the 'typical' turnaround from production to delivery on the west coast? You know... so I can obsess about it's arrival even more....

I was told last month to expect mine (west coast) end-of-September. I'll be fine with October as long as it is mine by year end. My winter wheels/tires package drops in October

So, just to provide the relevant info and timeline for this thread:
Placed a deposit $1K back on April 21st 2021. Was informed on June 23rd that my dealership had a single August allocation. Placed the order on June 30th for that August allocation. Was informed on August 31st that my car was on a train in transit from Halifax and would likely arrive by mid-September and was provided with the VIN. Received a call from my SA on Sept 14th that the car had arrived at the dealership. Finalized my purchase and trade-in on Sept 15th. Scheduled for pickup on Sept 20th. |

It looks all early deliveries are the ones without carbon exterior pack. I have read some posts saying shortages on carbon bits.

So… who knows. What you can be certain of is your production won't start until October at the earliest. Did they give you a build week? You might want to start tracking the thread for it if they did.

I just contacted my SA and I was bumped from September production to October. He said that dealerships are now getting one build allocation per month as opposed to two.

Sounds like my build will then be bumped from September to October if dealers are only getting one allocation per month. Shin got the first one from Budds built this month and "supposedly" I'm second in line. Considering the pandemic and supply chain issues, delays are understandable…just wish we has an online portal like the US to check on status. Getting info is more of a pull through our SA (nice guy doing his best) and BMW Canada than a 'push'.
