My sales guys told me it entered prod in Aug so confused here.
If it is in production then you should have a VIN. I recommend asking your SA to send you a screenshot of the order in the system. If you aren't in a Status 15*, then you haven't started production. You might be scheduled, but that isn't the same thing.

I do see Status /Date 047/ 15.06.2021 on screenshot shared back in Jun 18.
I ask my SA and order coordinator contacts for updates every 1-2 weeks. If your car entered production already they'll know. They'll also be able to see if it is scheduled for a specific build week in the future.

The production week threads have lots of instances of people getting bumped from one week (or month) to another. Usually, that means a delay. In rare cases, production starts earlier than planned for a future Build Week.

A few people were bumped out of August.

hmm.. looks like mine got bumped for some reason, maybe shortage of some part. As per my SA, he said it will likely be in late October now but will confirm. Waiting to hear back from him.

I'm sure this has been asked, but does anyone know the 'typical' turnaround from production to delivery on the west coast? You know... so I can obsess about it's arrival even more....

Mine was suppose to be first week of September. I spoke to them on the 5th and they haven't gotten a VIN yet.

So you are in similar situation as myself. Hoping to see progress soon!

I've stopped trying to map expectations for reality from typical 🤣

I was told last month to expect mine (west coast) end-of-September. I'll be fine with October as long as it is mine by year end. My winter wheels/tires package drops in October

So, just to provide the relevant info and timeline for this thread:

Placed a deposit $1K back on April 21st 2021.

Was informed on June 23rd that my dealership had a single August allocation.

Placed the order on June 30th for that August allocation.

Was informed on August 31st that my car was on a train in transit from Halifax and would likely arrive by mid-September and was provided with the VIN.

Received a call from my SA on Sept 14th that the car had arrived at the dealership.

Finalized my purchase and trade-in on Sept 15th.

Scheduled for pickup on Sept 20th.

It looks all early deliveries are the ones without carbon exterior pack. I have read some posts saying shortages on carbon bits.

M3 comp xDrive (tanzanite blue + Fiona red, optioned except CCB & adaptive cruise)

$3,000 Deposit: September 12, 2020
Placed order: June 17, 2021
Production number received: June 18, 2021
Production started (received VIN): Sept 8, 2021
Production completed: Sept 16, 2021
Arrived German Port: Sept 20, 2021
Got on a ship: Oct 7. 2021

Last Sunday was the anniversary since I paid my deposit lol

Interesting… mine has the carbon everything, which might explain a 2w build process taking 1mo to complete (other than paint delays).

Supply chains are a mess all over the place. If it isn't COVID its hackers.

Ouch. That means a 2022 delivery if that production schedule holds. Could be anything… my only initial delays were July—>August due to Individual paint. I knew that up-front. Then for a little while I was scheduled for a Week 38 production, but what really happened was my cad when into Status 150 in early August and should be on a ship any time now.

So… who knows. What you can be certain of is your production won't start until October at the earliest. Did they give you a build week? You might want to start tracking the thread for it if they did.

I just contacted my SA and I was bumped from September production to October. He said that dealerships are now getting one build allocation per month as opposed to two.

Sounds like my build will then be bumped from September to October if dealers are only getting one allocation per month. Shin got the first one from Budds built this month and "supposedly" I'm second in line. Considering the pandemic and supply chain issues, delays are understandable…just wish we has an online portal like the US to check on status. Getting info is more of a pull through our SA (nice guy doing his best) and BMW Canada than a 'push'.

I got dumped from week 3x all the way to week 47. Which dealership are you with?

Brian Jessel, but they don't control it. They request it, once the order is in BMW controls scheduling. My dealership was awesome, and did everything they could to make sure I was early in the queue since we'd been working on this for some time. I lucked out from the BMW production side, for the most part.
