Never seen it….is it the M Drift mode score? I didn’t get that option. Bet it’s in the manual.

The light has nothing to do with the M drift analyzer. It only signals that DSC is off (same as with every other BMW with DSC).

That is showing you that you are in the setting "0" on your M Traction Control which has 10 levels.
When that is showing, it means your traction control is completely off and you are in 2WD mode using the 10 level control.
This looks like a RWD since you don't have the other symbol showing the axles like mine. I have mine set to level 5 in the pic. [/IMG]

It is on because you turned off DSC and means you have no traction control. That icon is in almost any new car and means the same thing. No traction control and/or vehicle stability system if off. On some cars, it may not be completely off. When you see it flash briefly on most cars it means it is working.

It's your DSC light. It used to be a lot cooler, an ! in a triangle. Now it's lame.

In normal driving without any changes, it will flash if you lose traction and the vehicle cuts power.

If it is fully on (the light I mean), that means you have traction control fully disengaged. That means:

No nannies - the vehicle will not brake a specific wheel, or reduce engine power in the chance it recognizes slip

No auto-steering - i.e. if you have lane depart warning or something to that effect, it disables any steering wheel intervention.

So basically it means the car's handling is 100% all you.

He's not referring to that symbol. Read the thread, including follow up posts again (or the first time).

That’s your oil temperature gauge. If it’s only coming on when you turn DSC off, something is wrong. Go to the dealer and get the car flashed to the newest software.

You can tell something is wrong because the units of measure are Celsius. They should always be in Fahrenheit because imperial.

That kettle with a thermometer in it means your car's fluids are warm enough to make ramen.
