locking wheel nut & towing eye.
Apologies if this is old news but........
My G80 went to be ceramic coated today, got a call from the detailer to say the locking wheel nut socket was missing from the tool kit in the boot? My dealer could not help said it was unusual as it would have been checked for as part of the PDI. They even checked a G82 they had in the showroom and this too had these items missing. Agreed to send me a new socket ASAP. Spoke with BMW assist and they agreed to send someone out in 90 minutes, would have been there in 30 minutes great service. However just before he called to say he was around the corner. My son took a look on the internet and said there was a secret compartment under where the first aid and tool kit are found in the boot. Both the locking wheel nut socket and towing eye were there. Clad I've found this out before needing either in an emergency. If its old news sorry if not worth locating yours just in case. I've noticed the same mate. Think it's just that there are fewer G8x cars in the UK at the moment than there would normally be for the current gen of M3/4 due to the lead times, increased prices/reduced discounts and the grille. Hopefully with time more people will come to this sub forum. |

I suspect you are right. I've only seen 3 in 3 months outside of a dealership. G82 IOM Green in Nottingham, G80 grey in Newark and one waiting to get on the Chunnel tunnel LOL

It's probably not helped that many M3/M4 built between late October and late November are currently held at the factories with missing electronics modules!

I pass a black G82 near me in South Gloucestershire occasionally, must be a RWD model as I've been seeing it about since middle of last year, when I still had my black F82 Comp
I also saw a TBII, can't remember if it was a G80 or G82, on the M4 motorway near Cardiff before Christmas 2021. Other than that, I don't think I've seen any on the road! (other than mine ) |
