I don't have a horse in this race, but I do find it oddly amusing that owners of quite possibly the the ugliest front end / grill in the current automotive landscape are critiquing the styling of Tesla, lol.

Exactly. The g8x is an ugly ass car. But it is a great platform in terms of performances. I like performance so that’s why I got one.

Highly subjective LOL I think its more polarizing than just ugly but again a subjective opine on my end. I do think the Teslas (well my Plaid) have the better front for sure but Ive grown to like the Nostrils as only an owner can and should (I think??)

Along the same line, the ugliness of the front bumper of my Model 3 makes it easy to love the M4's audacious grill.

Everything else on the car is nice and aggressive. There’s no perfect looking car. The plaid is a lot better looking than any m car in my opinion. Older model s’s look like crap and I think people think of the older ones and make judgement on new ones based off previous designs. The model s plaid is one aggressive menancing looking car that actually looks good from all angles.

I still prefer a plaid's styling. Your plaid is very well done. Basically perfect although i wouldn't get that exterior color. I would be boring and just get white

So I'm about 4th car back 3 lane road. I'm in the left filter lane to get on the hwy. Left lane is a turn lane to go onto the highway; the two right lanes go straight. Light is red for the 3 lanes. There is a Tesla in front left turn only. All of a sudden light turns green for filter left turn. A V6 Honda Accord jumps from the middle lane and cuts the Tesla off 🤣😂😆. Tesla driver gets pissed starts chasing after the Honda up the on ramp. I see the Honda weave through traffic and gone. So MUCH for the 3 seconds of glory at the stop light. Was hilarious to watch!!! Damn Tesla was on his a$$ up the on ramp then Honda did some dirty lane changes and bye bye Tesla |

Teslas get gapped left and right around here...m3p, model s p100d, everything but plaid. My tuned X3M took so many teslas to gapplebees, it really is comical at this point. A tuned M3/M4 would put that many more bus lengths on those cute little toys, since it weighs less then the X3M.
Don't even get me started on tesla build quality... Last edited by hellcat2m4; 11-28-2022 at 05:39 PM.. |

I test drove the new Model S, not the Plaid. That car is nauseatingly fast even when accelerating at 70mph on the freeway. Maybe it loses steam at 120mph. Who knows. But anywhere in the real world, if you want to go fast in a straight line, it's gonna be tough if not impossible to beat that. It felt even more violent than the Model 3 Performance I drove back-to-back afterwards. I can't imagine the Plaid.
I personally wouldn't buy an ICE car because I want to be the fastest in a straight line. Where an M3/M4 shines and is on a different planet is in driving dynamics. I have no idea how to describe it, but the M sort of dances and is light on its feet whereas the Tesla in a turn feels completely inert. The Tesla is a bit like driving in a bullet train. It's super duper fast but I feel nothing. |

We have a Model 3 (our second one) and it’s honestly one of the best all around cars I’ve owned. No complaints about build quality and both have had zero issues. Once my M3 is here I too will have two M3s! 😁

I own a 2020 Model 3 Performance and a 2022 M3 6MT.
They both live in a peaceful coexistence Soon, the Tesla has to go and the replacement will be an ICE, probably a new X5. For me one main reason to drop the Tesla is: that smell of plastic in the interior. I mean, compare this to the odor of the full leather Merino interior from the G80.

Another one that I feel like I may be the only person who seriously dislikes it is Rivian, both the R1T and the R1S. My main "chat about cars" friend LOVES the look of the front of them, and I deeply dislike them. He was shocked when I told him how awful I think they look. Having bought the car I have, I would probably still buy one if it was the right car for me, though, since they look fine from every other angle. So that's pretty close to how I felt about my M3 initially. |

Had the Tesla M3P for 4 months, bought an M4 Convertible afterwards. IMHO it's an amazing car if you want to get (fast) from A to B. If you want to enjoy the ride from A to B (maybe pass C in between ) better get something else. My main issue was the missing sound and the looks. Also I didn't like the seats that much.
Acceleration from standstill is crazy in the M3P and you don't need any launch control etc. just goes like hell every time. Feels faster to 100km/h than the M4. Both are amazing cars. |
