Code M Mode change with m1/m2 buttons???

Hey guys! I’ve had my 2023 M3CX for around 10 days now! Absolutely love it but not sure if there is a way to have the m mode map to the m1 and m2 buttons. For context I have m1 set to eveything comfort and calm, and m2 set to the max sporty settings. This however is independent from the m mode on the center console which to my knowledge does nothing to the performance but instead certain safety features and the sporty visuals in the driver display and HUD… it would be perfection if if there is a way that when I hit m1 it goes the m mode road with the normal views and all safety on (default) and when hitting m2 m mode sport should also trigger changing the views and hud in addition to the driving dynamic settings! Hope that made sense! Ideally a factory setting or option? If not maybe code it but ive never done anything like that as this is my first ever bmw! Thank you in advance!!!!

Last I heard, this was not doable. But I would also love it if it was.

Nope. Many of us have complained about this.

You could change hud view with M1/M2 buttons in the previous gen.

This is a big miss by BMW.

Damnnn can’t code it using bimmer code? Could be an OTA update?

Bimmer Code changes variables (number of blinks in turn signal, etc.), and can activate/deactivate features.

To have M1/M2 buttons store your preferred M-mode would require changes to the UI among other changes.

BMW could make this change and then roll it out via OTA. Don’t hold your breath. This issue has been there since launch. ID8 is rolling out now, and they didn’t make this change for ID8. That suggests it isn’t on BMW’s radar, or they made a conscious decision not to do it.

Ughh dammit! Totally a first world problem bide that would legit be so convenient and fun if it worked together! Side note the shift light don’t pop up for me even in all sporty and m mode? Do I need to be in locked manual?

Just found this and am surprised the hud doesn't change in m modes if you want to it to...seems like an oversight

The HUD does change. The HUD is different in Road vs Sport. The tach and current gear is displayed when in Sport.

Edit: are you using “m mode” to mean the M1/M2 buttons? You can’t program them to change which m mode you’re in, hence this post.

Yes. I think in my f80 when I went to m1 or 2 you could program to have the m mode tach/hud change at the same time

Yes, you can in the F80. Which makes this even more annoying. They took a feature away.

I personally don’t really get the differentiation between m1/m2 and M mode. I mean, I know what they do separately but have no clue why they are differentiated.
