Yep, used cars seem to be holding strong. I'm still getting the same offers I was for my M4 at the time of placing my order 3+ months ago with 2,000 more miles on it. Unfortunately with no allocation, I'm not yet ready to pre-trade my car.

Just a funny situation where you hear of all these MSRP M4 allocations popping up here and there but those dealers are the ones always lowballing on the trade, by a significant margin too. I've found a couple dealers offering a fair value for my car willing to cut me a check for the equity without me buying from them so I might just go that route and jump on the next M4 allocation I come across since the four dealers I've been #1 at for 3+ months are apparently the only ones in this country not getting any.

So the '23 comes standard with the curved display option 6U2. What's the difference between that and the 6U3 live cockpit pro in the executive package? Aren't they both the digital curved displays?

Both have the curved displays, but 6U3 incudes the heads up display.

Got built numbers, and at 112 but got rejected on the buckets seats, just waiting on the response about it, so hopefully there are no shortage of buckets seats, wondering what going to happened if they don't have it,

So I have a dilemma: I called around to a bunch of dealers like 6 months ago asking about whether M3s they had incoming were available or pre-sold, and one of them somehow remembered me and offered me essentially my ideal spec today (the car isn't here yet -- just waiting for a boat at the port, so it should be here sometime in July).

My fear in buying this 2022 is that I'm number 1 on my local dealer's waitlist for a 2023, and though I don't care that much about ID8, this is a car I'll likely keep for 3-4 years (and maybe longer), and I'm worried I'll regret not waiting a few more months and getting the newest gen of infotainment down the road.

My fear in passing on this one is that my 2023 won't get here for a long time, and I don't really want to wait another 6+ months. I have no clue what to expect in terms of timeframes; it wouldn't shock me if I got an allocation in a few weeks and got the car in September, but I also wouldn't be surprised if I got pushed back a number of months because all of the 2022s that got pushed to 2023s will presumably be built first.

There's also the option of buying the 2022 now, keeping the 2023 order, then when the 2023 comes in, evaluating whether or not I really care about ID8 and seeing what the trade-in value is on the 2022. Again, not sure what to expect here; wouldn't be shocked if I didn't at all care about ID8, wouldn't be shocked if I thought it was way better, and also don't know if the economy tanking will drop resale values drastically or if the lack of supply relative to demand will keep them propped up.

Anyways, I'm thinking in circles, as I'm sure you can tell, and would appreciate any thoughts anyone has.

I can confirm that my M440i GC is way better than any M3/M4 that hasn't been built yet.

I was unsure if I wanted to get the iDrive 8 on a 2023 M3CxDrive with the exact spec I want or try to find a spec "close enough" in a 2022 M3CxDrive somewhere across the country.

After going and checking out the iDrive 8 on an i4 in person, I'm good with waiting for the 2023. Obviously, this isn't an apples to apples comparison, but for me I'm good with what the iDrive 8 provides and how it does it.

Good luck on your decision.

My dealer offered me to come it a test it out on a different vehicle. That's your best bet, and if you don't want to wait buy the 2022. Pretty high chance that the car will retain its value over the next 12 months, but who knows right?!

When should we expect the next round? End of this month or next month?

Well looks like there's light at the end of the tunnel.
Customer with '22 production number is backing out. Dealer is waiting for BMW conversion to new '23 production number—- dealer offered to me since I'm next in line…
Will order exactly what I want.

Man oh man, patience is a virtue.

That's great news. Does that mean you'll get the rumored price protection as well?

If I had to guess... they'll say we should expect them at the end of this month.... and we don't actually end up getting them until next month.

If you have a allocation you will get a production number right away. No production number no allocation.

I just got my allocation/production number and I have Carbon Buckets on my build. I have not heard anything about them not being available. For me they are a must. Thanks!

Good luck my friend! Hopefully we both receive MY2023 allocations soon!

Someone should really start a "Why I cancelled my G8x order" thread....

And the dealers we are waitlisted at specifically won't have gotten any for that round too, while we hear about others getting 5 at once.
