M-performance parts are available, yes. At your picking and at your cost AFTER you pick up your car from the dealer.

CS version of F80/82/87 came STANDARD with CF roof. F87 CS roof was STRUCTURAL and unique.

BASE G87 will not have any CF unless you add it post-delivery. G87C similarly will in all likelihood NOT boast any of the CF goodies either. Ditto for Adaptive Suspension.

All manufacturers add features incrementally as the stature and hierarchy rises within a given platform. They do so to give themselves room to make more revenue with higher up iterations of each platform as you have pointed out to some degree.

If BMW was to offer the CF roof and other bits, as well as adaptive suspension in the BASE G87, why would anyone in their right mind buy a Completion or a CS/CSL version down the track? In the same vein, why would BMW even offer those as optional extras?

This really is not rocket science

I understand it's not rocket science, guy, so I'm not sure why you're explaining your point like it is.

My response was to both you and Puppetz.

You may disagree with me, but I do think that there will be an CF roof option FROM THE FACTORY along with adaptive suspension and other CF parts like the seats, etc for an upcharge. I think that was made pretty clear.

I never stated these items would be "standard" bc I references a "stripper" variant of the car. Do I think that there will be options that are currently "unique" to the M2 CS on the G87? Yes, I absolutely do.

Furthermore, I think that even a stripper G87 will get an adjustable suspension like the CS, and as stated above, there will be a roof option from the factory. If the roof is a structural component, and they charge $8k to $10k for it, throw in some other random CF parts for $5k on a car with a $60k base price, you're looking at $75k. Again, as you pointed out, not rocket science. Let's say it's $80k with these "CS" exclusive options, the real question becomes if it takes away from the uniqueness of the current CS.

I took your reply to Puppetz to mean that you'd be pissed if these options were offered on a G87 bc you own a CS. I do think they will be on the G87 and the cost will be less than the CS. Throw in the CF seats and yes, some CS owners might be a little upset about it. Things like driving dynamics, aesthetic of the G87, weight, etc, are up for debate, and so others may not care.

I also think that prices of the CS will definitely depreciate. I'm not trying to be a hater, and everyone seems to go on the defense when a negative comment is made about their car, but it's a car forum so you need to get over it.

I actually really like the CS, but I do think it'll take a depreciation hit like most every other car.

"Old! Old?": BMW builds vehicles at its Leipzig plant since 2005.

When I book a flight I need to scroll down for ages in the drop down menu to indicate my personal 'vintage built date'.

Spoke to a client advisor at Bobby Rahal in Pittsburgh and they say they will be getting new M2s starting next summer. He also said that the hideous M3/M4 grill isn't coming to M2, that that was to "shake up" that market.

I don't know how factual any of that is, probably just speculation like anything else, but thought I'd share what he said.

Also, I was looking at the M4 they had in the showroom and I am looking forward to some of the new stuff in the cockpit vice the 2012 layout I current enjoy. Hoping for Android Auto.

I am sure this was covered elsewhere in this thread, but I remember reading somewhere, either here or facebook, that the sliding rear brakes were a deal breaker for some.

Why?

Because they look absolutely terrible and remind most of a base model Honda Civic. Sporty cars look great with those big beefy brakes inside the wheels, it’s aesthetic of course. One of the countless plights affecting the G8x disaster are the sliders, complete garbage on an $80k plus car.

Yeah I wasn't even looking for that specifically but my eye was drawn immediately towards them. They look out of place on the car.

Don't they also require the assistance of a diagnostic computer now too because of the electric parking brake?

Yep, they’re even more of a catastrophe on the M5/M8. I have no idea what BMW is doing lately.

G87 M2 SOP (start of production) is scheduled for December 2022.

Zero chance for dealers to get hold of HEA cars (Händler-Erst-Ausstattung - dealer demo cars) prior to SOP.

And G87 M2 prototypes on display (closed room, presentation) will not be for sale.

F87 M2: release date was April 16, 2016. Dealers were not allowed to release received M2 cars any earlier to customers (very rare exceptions: M2 car deliveries in March 2016 in Abu Dhabi and Beirut/Lebanon - see here and see here ). A BP forum member repeatedly claimed that he had firm commitments to get his ordered M2 car prior to release date. That didn't materialize. Ze rulez are ze rulez.

I have not seen G87 in person yet. The standard 2er G42 uses this
Three Car mix in its structure. I have learned this is expensive to complete but are doing it in regards to the goodwill brought by the M2. ( See they can be nice)
Had they not then the whole 2er Would have been driven by its front wheels.
One quote I have heard is that it's a Z4 Coupe.

Nothing wrong with the E82 1 series as it's the cow belly sag that made it look like it was put in a compactor.
