Hopefully I won't be inspired to slap this car in the face when it's revealed like it's ugly AF big brothers

I swear...the old BMW designers knocked it out of the ballpark when they made the current gen M2/C. Although I have an F80, my dream car has always been an F87/C due to its looks and size. Just couldn't fit two proper car seats in the rear so went with the larger F80. You could literally see my heart break when I took the baby seats to the dealer to put in the F87 and when it didn't fit...GUTTED. haha

But yes, although the body styling of this new G87 gen looks amazing, the lights (if I am correct to assume that they will use the same lights as with the spy shots) is no bueno.

YET! One caveat though. The 1M really wasn't a looker, but the aggressiveness and the special aura that car gave, made me still want one....I wonder if the G87 will be the same way?

Not sure if you were around when the F87 was at the very beginning phases. The pre-LCI were hardly lookers and the car received the same complaint. The front fangs looked tacky. Oh the seats are crooked.

If history has taught us anything, it's not judge 100% on 2 crooked low res pictures, or cars fully camoed.

And the 1M example you gave is very good as well. People made fun of its Honda Civic tail lights, but somehow they're still regarded as one of the best ever made

You are absolutely correct, but with these cars being such an emotional and subjective topic, I guess we all have our expectations for the next iteration. Change is hard, but whats harder is the stubborness of the current designers hehe

...and so it begins.

Will absolutely be on my radar all the up to release.

6MT Competition will be genuinely considered.

love
big wide hips ... would do the same mods as i did to my M2C i.e. lowering it / aftermarket exhaust and hopefully the stock wheels are a keeper an if not the M763 i believe would look killer ... and should be a BadAss car .......

Toying with the idea of trading my 2017 M2 DCT for a M2C MT car but.... these fenders and hood bump + better sounding exhaust are making me want to wait and see what the G87 brings....

No way there won't be one. Take rate for a 6mt for the f87 was over 50% and a 6mt in the g80 all but confirms it

probably gonna be about 2 years before you can get your hands on a g87. that's enough time to get a m2c and pay enough to break even on a trade in

I don't see how going from m2 to m2c to g87 won't be lighting more money on fire than going from m2 to g87.

The trade from m2 to m2c (taxes in California) only financially felt okay if the M2C was a "forever" car for me and I did euro delivery (once in a life time trip).

Now that euro delivery is out, I'm like well the transmission change from dct to MT is maybe different enough to justify writing that check.... but probably not if I'm going to then trade it for g87.

You should have bought different car seats.
There is wide variation in car seat fitting.

I've raised our 5yo since birth in the 1M.
No issues at all.

Buy better car seats!

Wow! Good to know! How about with two kids? I have two little ones, one in a rear facing and one front facing.
