Too late to spec 2024 PRELCI M3 comp xdrive?

Hello everyone,

I’ve recently started my search for an isle of man green 2024 G80 M3 with xDrive and black interior in SoCal and have heard mixed things. There are very few of them and most dealers don’t offer the ability to spec and claim that if I order now it’ll automatically be converted to a 2025 model even though it hasn’t been announced formally. If I was given the ability to spec, could this actually be the case given that the 2025 has a different exterior and interior and an increase in MSRP? The only ones available are with silverstone interior or a black interior one that is non-listed and marked up according to my local dealers in LA. Is it worth the markup for this spec or is it possible that one will show for MSRP? Thanks a lot for your advice in advance.

In order to spec your own car you need an allocation. Allocations are super tight everywhere, and I believe May builds will be the last for 2024. Those allocations are out right now so if noone is offering you a build spot next month you will get rolled over to a 2025 allocation. As you noted, because of expected price and option changes in 2025 they will not honor a 2024 price. Bottom line, if you have a specific Pre-LCI build in mind I would hit the vendor classifieds area and talk to Daylaborer or another broker, or reconsider your color combo, because it is HIGHLY unlikely that there is much unsold inventory over the next few months. As it is, many of the cars that you see on autotrader or dealer websites are actually spoken for already.

I see, that is good to know. I will try to get on finding an allocation in that case if May is the last of them. I appreciate your help and I didn’t know that those vehicles were spoken for, I’m very new to bmw ordering so this is all a bit confusing for sure.

One more production month left (June) for MY24 for the M3, so one more round of allocations left that should appear towards the end of April

Thanks, you would know much better than me, I wasn't sure exactly when the cut off was. I've been burned by factory switch over timing before. As an aside, do you think it would still be possible to get a individual Laguna Seca Blue 2024 G80?

Got some leads on allocations for May that were available (outside of CA) last week or so. Let me know if interested - I will be happy to share what I know.

Hey OP - was in the same boat as you, I started just calling all dealerships around my state and nearby to get an allocation for 2024.

As mentioned above, would use a broker to help you with this if you’re too busy

I think there is a Build Week 21 that has all the latest individual paints. The dealerships I spoke to last month told me that would put me to MY25 but I’d still try

Your best chance is Day Laborer.

Drop him a DM. Let him know where you are and if there’s one available in your area, he’ll find it.

I was able to get a 24 allocation randomly at my local dealer yesterday. They had one open allocation. I was told I had 4-6 days max to get the order submitted and put it in quickly today. Possible production very quickly they are telling me. Pretty crazy as dealers in other larger cities a few hours away were telling me I'd be on their 25 list already.

When I first emailed my local dealer, I was told I would be #3 on their list. When I went to test drive the car a couple of weeks later, we sat down and they somehow had an available allocation and I put my deposit down. Maybe they played bit of a game with me to get me in the showroom haha. I would reach out to any dealers nearby, even in neighboring states or hire a broker as others have mentioned. At least in my area (PNW), it wasn't too difficult to find an allocation.

I’m in this same boat, I put an order in with my local dealer for individual color 2024 Base M3. We’ll see if I get an allocation at the end of the month, if not I’ll just keep my 2021 Base M3 in BG solely due to the LCI headlights.

I am able to identify MSRP allocations in Socal, Norcal, and Central California ; but some of these dealers are tacking on dealer added accessories

Hey thanks a lot for your reply, I’m unable to reply to PMs yet as I’m really new to the forums but I’m leaning towards inventory IOMG specs as they are pretty close to what I’m looking for. I appreciate your help in my search, it does seem that dealers still want markup / accessories added onto this color spec for some odd reason. Doesn’t seem to be happening on other colors from what I saw

Day Laborer It’s been a very long time since my last post (former E92 M3 owner) so my PMs are disabled until I get some more posts. In the interim… I’m also looking for a May allocation for a 2024 G80. Any idea of any in the DC/VA/MD area? I’m more than willing to drive or ship too. Thank you!

Did the dealer you went through have an allocation? You want to confirm that specifically.
