I hope that the cars are assigned to a carrier and loaded by next week...and then maybe another week of travel [to the East Coast] for an early November delivery!

I wonder what the actual chances are for a early November delivery as I’m currently dispatched as well.

Elias Gondevas I can only hope...but am planning for a December delivery given other threads for earlier builds have been waiting for a carrier assignment.

Im picking up my car ~250 miles away from me. Any of you guys got a bit of a drive for the car after delivery? How are you planning to get the car home? Seems like Tracwrap is the way to go?

I have a 350 mile drive and plan on running naked or doing Tracwrap. I spoke to my detailer and he said Tracwrap is fine as long as you don't push it on there really hard, it'll come off without any paint issues. He said you don't want to see how hard some of these PPF installers yank on the film to re-position during an install, lol.

I say go naked because the majority of my drive home will be on rural backroads and highways where I probably won't be behind a bunch of people. So I might just chance it.

My dealer is quoting a "mandatory" $999 charge for "ceramic coating", or what they're calling "First Place Finish".

I'm planning on PPF'ing the car, and from everything I can tell, you have to PPF first before you ceramic coat, or it won't stick.

Dealer is in VA, not sure what my options are in terms of telling them I don't want it.

I requested it be removed but they claim it isn't optional.

Honestly this sounds like a scam in my opinion…

My CA has been great in keeping in touch with updates and messaged me this AM stating that it is at port awaiting a boat. I asked him what has he seen with previous allocations and shared that another customer of his had a car at port in mid-September and it was on a boat on 05-October. So I imagine I'll have a similar time frame to work with.

There is a thread where another member did that (tracwrap) and posted pics. The upside of your pick-up location is that you will be that much closer to completing your break-in miles!! My dealership is nearby (~15 miles) so it'll be a while before I reach that milestone.

This. It's a cool opportunity to have a decent drive home to get break-in miles and get to know the car!

Tell them you don’t want that garbage anywhere near your car and ask them what the margin is. Pay that in cash.

Dealer add ons are just a way to pad the bill. Assuming they won’t remove the charge, they should be able to apply it to something else - window tint, interior protection, LoJack.

Exactly. Tell them you recognize they need to make margin on something but you don't want that. Ask them to price up something similar you would find value in. Tint, PPF, service plan, wheel / tire, etc. Or like I said just tell them you'll give them an extra $500. You don't want that crap.

When I ordered my Cayenne, my dealer wasn't charging ADM but wanted me to order two scheduled services, windshield and interior protection, tint and PPF. I told them no, I would go for one scheduled service, drop the windshield / interior (no benefit to me) but I would do the tint and PPF if they dropped their price by $500, which they did.

I was planning on doing both, and they use an XPel corporate location right by the dealership in North Houston. I have had them tint my cars before and been happy, and have seen other PPF they have done and been happy so I said go for it. They send XPel so much business that even with their margin, I ended up paying $1,500 for full front (hood, bumper, mirrors and fenders) and $750 for all windows including windshield which is pretty much street price if I had gone elsewhere. It was done when i picked the car up, they made their margin, I got a fair price, everyone is happy.

Your situation will be different but I'm sure if they are unwilling to budge that you can find something they'll sell you that you'll find value in. Just not that garbage coating. Because they won't paint correct your car, they will just slap that crap on there which is something you can do yourself for about $150.
