Fall-line Motorsport has also started development on the tow hooks and suspension components.

Have to say, I absolutely love this look. May just be great on Alpine White, but I like this more than stock, and would very strongly consider it if I were to purchase. Just looks cleaner and more buttoned up than stock, while keeping some of the bold new styling. Like it a LOT.

I don't think it's possible to fix without a complete bumper and hood redesign.

That being said, going to a vertical grill and making the center portion flush with the front of the bumper is the best look.

Yeah, I tend to agree. This works. Simple and clean.

Keeps the bold look, yet tones it down a bit.

Can you actually paint the parking sensors up front and they remain functionable?

99% chance I would just do this if I got the car. I find I don't have to "wrestle" with the design as much as the giant vacuum nostrils that are stock. But it takes that new design and works it into a refreshing new form and looks very factory like. It will be interesting to see what IND does for "phase 3" of this mod.

In stock form, have never really had to spend so much effort wrapping my head around a bmw design ever, and many have the same opinion, clearly.

Yes, you can paint over them... ultrasonic, basically like a speaker, send out a sound wave, and then sense its return. So there is no optical part about it.

Totally agree that it looks quite OEM, which I like.

This completely breaks the whole design flow of a vertical grille like this. For those of us in such countries, the mandatory plate simply spoils the whole thing. We can see the logic of the new design if it's 'bare' - but in our locales, it looks a mess, like a quick Photoshop with a plate cut-and-pasted on as an afterthought.
If we had the long rectangular plates, I'd be happy. It covers up that god awful design.

Here's another really bad manipulated photo, but I think it looks more pleasing than the actual design.

Agree, oddly enough looks better with plate.
Definitely not BMW's finest when you have to wrestle with it and have a million asterisks for it to look good.

Looks better in person, looks best only from certain angles, doesn't photograph well, modifying like IND is, and so on.

IND's work though I do love and think it makes the car much more appealing. I have my eyes on the M340i next but if that were not the case their work has opened my eyes on to how it can be improved for sure.

IMO, IND needs to come up with a full front clip with a better grill design (may be incorporate G20 grills) that will completely replace that god awful front end.

Swapping the front cover should not be that difficult at all, especially if the results completely change the look of the car.

Thats what I am waiting for. Messing with the existing grill won't yield any significant improvements.

This or something close to this will be a huge hit as well as a great improvement. While you are at it, delete the side markers and we are set :-)

Agreed. Guess I'm fortunate to appreciate the new, more aggressive (IMO) design.

the reason people are so commonly working on it is that the original design was simply not a total home run by BMW for some, obviously. I think it is cool that people are exploring it personally. To each their own, if you don't like it, go to other threads.

I'll stay here and voice my opinion just like everybody else. I generally like IND's work, but if something does/doesn't appeal to me I can voice it just like you/everybody else can. The thread was posted to acquire feedback, which doesn't mean it needs to be a circle jerk.

This thread is still filled with a bunch of M8 knocks offs and awful iterations on the controversial grills.

No offense to IND or Evolve but if this is the best there is to be had with months and months of research and development....I doubt anyone’s going to come up with a viable solution to this non existent problem. These two companies have their shit together. If not them then who?

Maybe someone will come up with something that makes everyone happy and doesn’t involve completely dismantling the front end.

When I don’t like the way a car looks I usually just vote with my wallet and buy another one. :confused
