Kw has install price?

Hey guys what have you been quoted on a KW HAS kit install and alignment? I got quoted 1100 in the Atlanta area seems kinda high just wondering if that’s normal?

Thanks

Depends on the area but here in California I had3 quotes 750-850 with alignment . And the third shop did it for 450 no alignment.
These quotes are for springs though that last shop and an extra hundred dollars for coilovers because they have to press them in.

I called around I got three different quotes one for 920, 950 and 1100. The 920 shop is in NC not worth the drive was just curious what their rate was.

450 for RWD and 550 for AWD was the pricing I was quoted and paid. Im not 100% sure, but I thought it included an alignment. Or I paid more for the alignment and dont remember. But install rates are 450-550.

HAS installation can be more expensive than just springs if the installer has to adjust ride height and do alignment. I live in a very high COL area and paid $800 for HAS installation/alignment and was not pleased until the installer unpacked what all went into that. I still wasn't thrilled tho lol

HAS installation is really only a few hours' work, so the installer should tell you how many hours install will take and what the rate for labor is. That'll give you a better sense for whether you are being ripped off or not.

Installing springs is a minimum of 2 hours, ride height adjustment can take 30-60 mins., and alignment is 1 hour. So, you are looking at 4 hours of minimum in my opinion, and that does not include corner balancing. Most shops will quote 6 hours taking into account a multitude of things that can possibly go wrong.

They quoted me 5 hours for the installation at 180 an hour and 200 for the alignment. 950 quote is for 10 hours labor and alignment he didn’t give me the labor rate.

IMHO, do not sweat $200-300 differences in quotes. Get the work done at a place that you believe will do with quality. Springs are not trivial as they impact the entire chassis, look for reputable shops.

HAS requires the front perches to be pressed off and the adjustable ones pressed on in addition to ride height setting (or proper corner balance on scales with disconnected ARBs). Both can add a lot of time. Not sure some of these low prices posted above are actually for HAS assemblies. Having done this several times, 4-5 hours labor seems reasonable with alignment. Takes longer than full coil overs when you have to use the press 4 times.
