Hud is essentially a $4k option

I think it's a joke that the hud is part of a $1700 package that bundles completely unrelated options I don't need (heated wheel, remote start, ugly sensatec dash). It also forces you to go full leather which adds another $2300.

I'm literally paying $4000 for the hud. Makes me want to look at other models/cars instead.

You don’t need to go full leather to get the executive package, it’s just if you were to get both you save 200 on the full leather

I just built one, right now, with just the executive package and it didn't make me add full leather. If you want a strippy strip, go find a used one for like $60k. That way all of the options have already depreciated. Paying $85k for a car without full leather, is crazy, anyway, BMW should just include it. The Extended leather, (Non Full Merino) is like the plastic dash on my accord.

And there isn't a car manufacturer on the planet that lets you pick every single option, individually, so, you're really just punching the air.

I wrote a post a few years ago, comparing the leather. Its the older interior style, but the leather vs non leather is the same.

I think the HUD sucks with the blue bar behind it. The other options for me - heated wheel and remote start are why I wanted that package.

I didn't care about HUD at all, but I really wanted the sensatec dashboard to be a standalone option. ...and with the LCI, this is now available. I agree though, BMW could have done a better job offering standalone options instead of bundles.

Porsche is the worst, and the thing is, all the tests you see, it usually has EVERY performance option, PDCC, RAS (rear axel steering), PCCB, etc. so you're seeing the most performance oriented built whereas stock you're nowhere near of course.
My first G80 had the exec package, and IMO it was generally worthless to me. My second G80 M3 is Indiv. Frozen Dark Grey, full leather, and by and large every option sans Exec and don't even notice since I think the HUD was mostly a nuisance I never looked and the rest of the options were maybe used a handful of times in 2 years.

I don't really get the blue bar hate, but if you want to make it mostly disappear, try some polarized glasses. I just switched my sunglasses from OTC Maui Jim's to Zeiss perscription lenses (both polarized). The Zeiss lenses don't work as well with the HUD which forced me to turn the brightness all the way up, but mostly makes the blue disappear.

Yes. I wanted RAS on my wife's Cayenne but it was making me pick air suspension as well which I did NOT want given that I'm planning on keeping this thing 100k miles plus. I didn't want it that badly.

Yes, although I would argue that PDCC has no place on the 911, TBH, and neither does RAS. The 911 ST has kind of proven my point.

But they are the absolute worst. Go build an X5 and then build the equivalent Cayenne and watch your jaw absolutely drop.

It was a joke guys. They have an endless list of options because you barely get 4 wheels and an engine for the base price.

I've more or less gotten used to it now but for a while it was super distracting. I just don't see a reason for it to be there, tbh.

I have PDCC in my 991.1S and I don't think it's needed but IS nice. It is def needed if you buy a targa which has way too much roll. I owned a 991.2S with RAS and never liked the feeling of it when I would step the rear out - just felt odd to me.

The only thing I'd want from exec pack is the remote start which can be added later for $300 since the car already has all the hardware needed for it - it's just deactivated until you pay.

**UNPOPULAR OPINION ALERT**

I think the new targa, well, sucks. It looks cool, yes. But it's got a ton of drawbacks.

1. It's got the cabrio's reinforced body shell, but has a heavy, heavy glass roof. Therefore it's super heavy.
2. It's mandatory AWD, so it's even heavier
3. Rear seat room compromised due to cabrio body / mechanism.
4. Roof opening not all that large...barely larger than the sunroof. Does not give much of an open air feeling compared to cabrio.
5. Heavy glass roof cannot be operated while driving, whereas cabrio top operable up to 50kph.
6. Did I mention the weight? And it's up high? Yeah, not good.

My apologies to Targa owners but having owned a cab, I'd take it 10/10 times. Other than preserving rear visibility compared to the cab, the targa offers nothing over it. The 991 and onward cab is more of a folding hardtop as the main roof consists of three magnesium panels that are covered in the fabric. Really the only part that's not hard is the sail panel area.

Sorry, off topic post over.

I agree. In fact, the 992 sans the GT models don't really do much for me driving wise. Sure they're still good but they lack a sense of experience are just ubiquitous at this point. I truly do feel the G8X cars are better than any 992 except the GT cars at this point overall.

I honestly wish I had full leather vs the Executive Package. I did not think going back to ext leather was a big deal. After having full leather I really miss it. HUD is OK but if I had to chose one or the other I would have gone with full leather over the Exec package. I can’t have remote start (manual) so for me it was simply 1700 for HUD. The automatic trunk, which is part of the Executive package, is a waste IMHO. Probably 15 lbs BMW could have saved without that feature which to me makes no sense unless a SAV/SUV.

I like the power trunk, because I don’t like touching my paint. You’d grab the spoiler and just scratch the hell out of it, after repeat trunk closings. I just like to push the lock button, and walk away.

Agree - and not to mention I believe the targa GTS has a different suspension setup from the standard GTS (i.e. it's softer and less sporty). I think the targa looks amazing, but beyond that I couldn't justify getting one. Standard coupe GTS for me.

I have never once gotten in my car and wished I had full leather. Not once. I had it in my M8 and I never paid any attention to it. Though they have sone luxury items, M3/M4 is not a luxury car.

For me it's more about the color than the actual leather. If I could have the option to have it sensatec/plastic but have it color matched I'd have probably chosen that over full leather.
