OMG I’ve talked to him on instagram before. Small world. If he has a gray E92 with E88’s like mine then that’s the same one. He was a big inspiration when I was starting out. I never told him but when I saw his car I knew I could do it too. Thanks for sharing this and if you talk to him tell him I wish him all the best!

I was injured in 2017 and left paralyzed from the waist down. I spent half a year in a hospital in Colorado having to relearn basic things I'd previously taken for granted. It's safe to say in more ways than one I am lucky to be sitting here telling my story. During my stay in Colorado it was heavily hinted at that I would need to look at a vehicle that was more accessible like a van of some sort. I've owned my E92 since 2014 and I've had an E46 M3 previous to that. I've owned two 350Z's before that so you can see where a van would be problematic. I was not going to let this deter me from being able to continue driving my E92. I began the process of making my E92 adaptable for my needs which ranged from installing hand controls to learning how to get in and out of my car with the wheelchair properly.
Which has now lead me to my new car that I have recently ordered. It is a 2022 M4 Competition Xdrive, the specs are listed below. I will be installing the same type of hand controls in my G82 as I did my E92 which is electronic and cuts off the accelerator pedal rerouting power to the hand controls.
I want to share this build with you all in hopes of showing that it's possible, that even when you're told no, there's always a way to adapt, take it from me.
Build specs

Full black leather
826M rims black
Carbon fiber trim

Here is a video of the hand controls and how the currently work in my E92 if you're curious

Inspirational; and my guess you've always been a go getter. Thanks for sharing!

I was at a car drive event about a year ago. Guy drives up in a newer 911 turbo and did not have full use of his legs. He was able to get out and get in a wheelchair. Had his very young son with him (about 8 years old) which was also very cool. Car had some additional controls. Cool dude and car was pristine condition!

I received an update on my G82 and the hand controls as well. My G82 is soon to enter 150 status and should be here in October. I spoke with Mobility works who will be installing the hand controls and they need a vin to make sure any modules on the car will not affect the hand controls. It may seem like a no issue addition but if not done correct you will have catastrophic results.
I am trying to plan it so the car can go straight from the dealer to the hand control installer. Hopefully I will be able to drive my car the after I pick it up from the dealership. That is the goal.
