I recently changed the BBS RID wheels, with front tires sized at 285/30/20 and rear tires at 295/30/20. I also installed KW lowering springs. Finished alignment and wheel balance.

The steering wheel starts to pull when the car drives on two different road surfaces on the highway. Additionally, the handling feels light and unstable when accelerating from a stop.

Has anyone else experienced similar problems with aftermarket wheels?

Your BBS wheels have the least to do with that situation out of everything you mentioned. Get an alignment.

The car finished alignment and balance when it stalled it.

I’d go get the KW install checked to ensure everything’s ok then go back to the same alignment place and see if any numbers have changed.

Also, get the wheels balanced again.

If it still persists, may want to look at getting the tires replaced.

Did the shop give you a copy of the alignment specs before & after? Sounds like you have a "trammeling" issue. My thought is your toe setting could be out of spec.

This is why I'm on the fence about lowering mine. I lowered My Supra and the ride was way different. If going at any speed and then throttling it, it would almost jump to the left or right, felt very unstable....

How many miles were driven between springs and alignment?
After alignment was it an instant issue or did it progress with driving?

Where I'm going is the springs will settle a small amount when new. This will induce Toe-Out which causes the situation you are describing.

I think the front wheel pulling issue might be from lowering the car and tie rod geometry is weird, also as somebody pointed out that rear toe sweep might be off as well. Maybe look into SPL front tie rod end and rear toe links to correct the suspension geometry when lowered? I'd also suggest LCA to correct rollcenter.

If I’m understanding what you’re describing correctly I had this exact issue when lowering on V3’s. If there was any crack in the road or dip the car would “sway” in a different line rather than tracking straight. I installed fall line monoballs and spl “bump steer” arms and it completely fixed my problem. Like others have mentioned, lowering the car changes the geometry but only few people realize the changes in driving. Hope this helps!
