Of course you can use these as summers as well but I just happen to run into these in person today and saw them in a catalog awhile back.

Pricing was about $4100 usd and €3500 euros.

Talking about the 829 wheels, I saw they're offering Pirelli winter runflats with them now as well. Anyone got those? Wonder how the runflats affect ride quality

I got a quote from local dealer and they order the 9" fronts and 9.5" rears separately to make the package. Would it be better to do a 9" square set up for winter and then have slightly narrower setup for winter and can rotate them to any corner in the future?

I'd run the 9.5s square instead of the 9s. Either way you're using a 275 section tire.

Also depends if esthetics are a priority. The wider rear will fit better and you will have a sunken appearance with a square (rotatable) setup

I would do the wider rear, it will look good

I have them. You cant use them as all seasons. Won't last in the heat. Even 15c was a bit hot for mine - temperature of tyre climbs very quickly. It's a soft compound. Good so far in cold and rain in uk.

For those that don't know, the 829M is a cast wheel - not forged. This is extremely vital for those that drive on awful roads. If given the option, you are far better off buying a set of 19" 826M or 825M and running it out back for a square setup as long as you kept the original fronts. The 824M, 825M, and 826M are all forged wheels and will 100% be stronger than the 829M. I understand the reticence behind not wanting to take tyres off and on the same wheel as it can get damaged, but it's still important to know. I was about to pull the trigger on a set until I learned that it wasn't forged.

I had a set of flow forged wheels for winter on my old F30 335i - they lasted about 4 weeks before bending. Cast wheels are even worse as they provide less wheel strength.

I meant for the wheels you can use as summers, not the tires, I should've clarified.

Where are you seeing info that say the 824m, 825m and 826m are forged? I'm not sure that is true.

Besides logic, what makes you think BMW will sell a car that can be spec'd to $100k+ with cast wheels? There'd be a severe uproar and it would never happen.

It also says it on the configurator as long as you're not on the USA site. The vast majority of Americans don't know what forged wheels are so it's probably why they don't include it in the literature.

What's your opinion on powder coating the 829 M? I'm not a huge fan of black wheels and would like something else for the Tanzanite G81 which I ordered without extended shadowline (chrome exhaust tips).

The gold/bronze of the 1000 M doesn't feel like it would work well on this design but what about gunmetal?

Something similar to the Style 65 E39 M5 wheel: "Finished in satin chrome / chrome shadow paint. A unique process in which the wheel is finished in black paint first then sprayed lightly with silver to allow some of the black to show through."

I was thinking about that too, but unfortunately there are no pictures of the 829M wheels in any other color than black, so I wasn't sure how it would look like. I ended up buying the grey 825M for the winter wheels.

I decided to go for powercoating the 829M silver now that I have a tanzanite car with the chrome tips. Will post update!

Great, looking forward to it. I also powdercoated my 826M in silver and it was definitely the right decision.

...and here they are. Shop wasn't able to replicate the E39 M5 chrome shadow style but I'm quite pleased with the result.

Can I run the front wheels square? I would think so - I am seeing them: 19 inch for $870 so $3480 for a set with Alpin. I can swap them myself twice a year. I priced around me and its $200 to change tires w/o rims.
