If you have the HAS kit, you're familiar with how low the rear goes, even at max height. I understand adding more height to the rear likely goes against KW's engineering behind the kit, but I'm no track junky and my car is a full time daily driver. Seems like most people today want the slammed look, but I outgrew that crap many years ago.
I decided to take the plunge on the KW spring spacers. Bought 2 sets (15 & 30mm) for proof of concept. Ended up installing the 15mm. Most of the stuff you'll see online with these, is that they're usually used between a spring and helper spring on their full coilover kits, but there are threads out there where people have used them on the HAS kits. They drop right in and sit perfectly between the adjustable perch and spring.. no slop or movement. In theory, with the added height from the spacer, the springs likely have more preload now, but I have not noticed a stiffer ride. These added about 10mm past the previous maxed out height, and there's more to go. Pics of hardware below, I'll snap some of the car once the weather is better. |

Appreciate the update, haven't come across an install in where these were needed yet out here. Is your Comp 2WD or xDrive?

Why even install the rear springs if the drop is 15mm and then you are using something to bring it back up 15mm? Why not just do a front kit? Maybe I am misunderstanding something?

Also, I'm not using all of the 15mm spacer. I now have much more play room in the rear. |

Do you have any before-spacer and after-spacer pics of your car?
In any case, good to know these exist. I have a HAS kit waiting for installation and I have seen some complaints about the rear being too low, even at max height. |

Apologies for the shadows covering the wheel gap. Currently it's a tight one-finger gap. Car is also equipped with 12mm spacers all around.

Was you rear lower than this members KW setup? He is full height on the rear. It looks like its 1 finger gap. But maybe its an illusion. Now you got me concerned. Because I want finger gap at a minimum. I dont want tucked rear at all. https://g80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...7&postcount=61 Heres another member with KW HAS. His car doesnt look tucked in the rear. https://g80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1869553 Im supposed to get lowered this week and now Im worried I will be dragging ass vs the front. I want equal wheel gap front and back. 1-1.5 finger gap would be perfect to me.

So there are a couple different measurements thrown around within these forums... RECOMMENDED max height from KW: At this height, the tire is nearly tucking. IMO, not a good look. I'm totally aware there was lots of R&D behind this. I'm guessing KW was keeping the balance of the car by maintaining the factory positive rake. This setting also leaves a few threads to be used. MAX height: This is what you get when you use up ALL the threads on the rear adjusters. In my experience, this was just under a finger gap. Again, still wasn't a fan, and the rear almost had a "sagging" look. Now, I could go quite a bit lower in the front, so that could have cured it. But didn't want to dump the front. Spring spacers installed: these now give the ability to push the spring PAST the last few threads. There are a couple other factors at play... obviously lighting, shadows, camber settings (I have not had an alignment yet, so camber is likely at -2 + degrees). I do need to fine tune the height now. The LR sits a tad higher than the RR.. probably a loose finger gap. Quote:

Better picture of the rear. Lighting is right, so you can see the gap between quarter panel and tire shoulder.

Now I kn0w why everying is saying max height rear and max low or close to it, up front. Because its the only way to get that equal gap. But even then the gap is so small. I like a good solid finger gap front and back. Dam, Im bummed. I was excited to drop my car.

Well crap. That confirms that I am not lowering my car right now. I do not want my rear end that low.
I do not want my rear tucked or even close to it. I roll family in my car a lot so I dont want to be rolling down the highway super tucked. Argh! Why did KW not give us more rear height adjustment.
