Visual evidence that it pays to pass Physics 101 in high school and remember basic formulas such as:
Kinetic energy is directly proportional to the mass of the object and to the square of its velocity: K.E. = 1/2 m v2. TL;DR. Velocity squared + ignorance of traction limits on a public street = highly predictable outcome. |

[QUOTE=micvite;30470333]It's funny how they say fully license blah blah insured. Incase of accident blah blah know you're covered. Then in the faq it says you have to put the car on your own insurance lol. If they did offer insurance and the person bought it I'm sure he's real happy right now lol... or hopefully he had a credit card that offered insurance as primary
If its a credit card insurance it has a limit. Usually no more than 50K. For a $130k plus car he will have to pony up the difference . |

As someone who makes a living in the insurance business (and who sees tons of data on performance car accidents) -- 4wd makes a significant impact on the rate of at-fault, single vehicle accidents on front engined performance cars.
The disparity in the rate of crashes on RWD mid or rear engine cars is less significant, likely due to the weight being over the rear axle of the car and making it a bit more difficult for a driver to spin out mid corner. Front engine, rear wheel drive high-performance cars are the absolute worst in terms of at-fault single vehicle accidents. Dudes take a corner and stab the throttle...next thing you know we are getting a call asking for $125,000. Just my .02 from the data I see. |

I may not be smart, but I’m smart enough to not drive like an idiot on public roads and push the limits of myself and the car at the track

I normally do on a daily basis, however, stupidity and blatantly choosing to potentially endanger innocent lives when driving stupid on public roads deserves no empathy. IMO.

It’s not twitchy at all if you’re not driving past the limit. It’s a big improvement over the F8X chassis.

Ex-Turo host here.
This isn’t at all surprising unfortunately. The new CSL is known for being a handful (in a good way?). This is the last car whoever business owner ought to have put out for rent. Speaking from experience here. Front engine, rwd performance cars almost always have the most claims and incidents. People rent them for a reason. They’re typically more affordable than mid-engined exotics, newer models are very powerful (M4, Hellcat, mustangs etc etc), and have a big fan base. This attracts a particular crowd of clientele. Simple math. Far more people are able to afford the $150-300/day that these cars garner vs the $1000+/day for true exotics that have more tire, better traction control, and easier handling at the limit. Any yahoo that just got their paycheck can rent one of these things and wrap it around a tree. Car rentals is a tough, tough business. Many people could care less about treating these cars with any degree of respect. Most were younger (20-30) guys looking for a joyride. Turo also will ding your profile for canceling trips for obviously scetch clientele. I was constantly at Turo’s mercy deciding between keeping my business reputation high and intact and having to hand over the keys to folks I knew beyond any doubt would be irresponsible. Don’t even get me started about claims resolution. Turo always favored guests vs hosts. I understood that to some respect because they’re driving growth and don’t want poor user reviews. However, when you’re a host that has many hundreds of trips under your belt with excellent reviews, and making Turo tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars, it ought to be common sense to work kindly with your hosts.
