Yep, the i8 performance does not match its appearance, unfortunately.

Instaled some mudflaps today for some extra off road protection 😎 ….just kidding would never get my baby of the tarmac, just wanted to preserve the paintwork a little longer 👍 and mounted some floating hubcaps too 👍…nevermind the dirty zmurf in the pics 👀😎😅

Got my tires road force balanced to resolve some minor vibration from 45-55mph.
Also requested an alignment, which I’m now waiting on. Interesting fact: because my wheel spacers have 10 equidistant holes in them, the alignment heads that the dealer uses can’t be mounted properly - my guess (talked to SA not the tech) is that the spacer holes make it so the prongs on the alignment heads cannot make contact with the hub surface because it’s now 8 or 12.5mm further away. Guess the prongs don’t have enough adjustment? Anyway, they’re going to remove the wheels and spacers and align it without them. I hope they have stock wheel bolts - not sure if the ones that came with the spacers will make contact with anything inside the hub considering they’re 5 and 10mm longer than the OEM bolts. Or just as bad, bottom out before the wheels are on tight because they’re too long. Found this related post where something similar came up, though it wasn’t entirely clear what the issue was: https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1845478 Guess I’ll hear soon enough while I’m waiting. Moral of the story: if you have spacers with more than 5 holes, maybe see if your choice of shop needs to use the OEM wheel alignment holes or not. Or get spacers that only have holes for the lug bolts and are otherwise smooth, unmarked, and consistently the same depth across the entire spacer surface so the alignment head prongs will mate up correctly. Update: I caught the techs as they were returning from a road test of the adjusted alignment. The right toe was initially off (hopefully no more need to make lots of micro adjustments on expressways). Also, and somewhat unfortunately, there’s no way to add more castor to make it self center with more force (boo). Anyway they were able to get the alignment done and are putting the spacers back on. Good guys. Last edited by ebirotedu; 07-18-2022 at 03:55 PM.. |

@stlcdr BMW does not have any options for the G29 so it's custom from Thomas at TGL, tommylgarage on Insta 👌
They are discrete enough and I hope they provide way better protection than rolling without 👍it was a straight & easy fit that took no more than 10 minutes to install. |

Super minor compared to all the changes everyone else did: cut holes into the WeatherTech trunk liner for the fastener rings and finally clipped the cargo net in I got a couple weeks ago (believe was a recommendation here).
What I am slightly OCD’ing about is whether the net goes East-West or North-South … two sides have this sheath over the actual rubber band, two sides don’t. Any words of wisdom or empirical data with recommendation as to why to install it one way and not the other? |

Lol! I had the same questions. I opted to position the sheathed parts in the front & rear figuring those were more likely to see wear & tear from sliding things under the net (especially the front).
Also added some tensioners to make it fit a bit better. Last edited by ebirotedu; 08-11-2022 at 12:45 PM.. |

I went to my dealer in Ft. Lauderdale for my first annual service and spotted a beauty sitting there.
I had to put my sunglasses on to look at the new M3 in Sao Paulo Yellow with the Kyalami Orange/Black interior. |

Sao Paulo Yellow is no Austin Metallic Yellow.
Reminds me that I once owned a truly awful neon green t-shirt, which I wore proudly during summer vacation in the mid-80s. Diff'rent strokes, I guess. Some people say they prefer SPY to AMY. |

Due to rain today AND restrictions I washed my car while in the garage. Very carefully. Used bare minimum amounts of water. Cars and coffee this weekend!!
