New 4 series!
So I've been driving around aimlessly a lot and somehow totally not intentionally whatsoever ended up at the local BMW dealer (ok that's a lie ). When I first saw the photos, I thought I hated this thing. In person, it's absolutely fantastic. What do you guys think of this new generation? [flamesuit]

It is a good looking car sans the grill. Of course they are blacking them out on as many models as they can that I have seen. Why do they never show a license plate holder on it? It does look a LITTLE better in person, but I still purchased an M340 which avoided it.
Just my view on it.

I love it. Best looking car BMW have done in a while.
Can't wait to own one myself. It looks quite nice in that blue, although I'd like to see one with a Cerium grille rather than a black one, as I'm yet undecided which I want to get eventually. |

That's classy. I think I like the Cerium better than black.
Wonder how it'll look on a Tanzanite M440i. |

Like a lot of BMW colors it does have moods. In bright sun it’s a lighter brighter metallic blue, and with less sun it looks a little darker. Under a clouded sky or in the garage it looks like a solid grayish blue color with no metallic. I get a lot of compliments on it.

A month ago or so I went to my local dealer to view the new G22. Even though I'm still not completely ok about the grille, it did look a lot better in real life than what I previously saw on images. Of course, the artificial lighting might create a positive bias. I still need to take it for a test drive and see it in natural light.
I must admit though that it does look kinda aggressive in a way that I think it might eventually completely grow on me. These pictures are with a license plate, albeit an artificial one. The shadow line package including the additional 'shadow' lights really helps. This one's clearly in arctic race blue, though unfortunately it's only a 430i. Don't think it makes much of a difference on appearance when comparing it to the M440i. (only the exhaust pipes would differ) |

I've seen it in person in a variety of colors and trims and even driven one. I could go on a whole rant, but I'll keep it simple, I strongly dislike it, and I am one in the past who has actually liked controversial BMW's from the E60 5er, E83 Z4, LCI E65 7er, G07 X7, etc. The front end is the biggest problem for me, there are issues with the sides and rear however they are not dealbreakers like the front is for me.
