Though if I had a frozen color I’d probably ppf the whole thing too

Yeah, at work I have to park under trees with lots of sap, so I don’t think I could handle the crazy cleaning by hand that would be required constantly.

Better safe than sorry, I’ve heard that frozen paint is pretty tedious to care for unprotected.

I've had frozen paint for years and, IMO, it doesn't actually require more time to care for. The difference is it comes with risks and requires special treatment.

• Matte paint can't be paint-corrected. If you scratch it or tarnish it, you're stuck unless you want to get the whole panel resprayed.
• There is no such thing as claying it, only chemical decontamination. BMW sells a kit for this. It's not fun to use. But you need to have it on hand to clear up deposits now and then. (I actually find it easier than claying.)
• Washing/drying is like a normal car EXCEPT the products you use. You must not use anything with polymers, which will fill in the matte paint texture and make it smooth over time. So, something like Meguiar's Gold is a good choice, and there are many matte-specific products from Chemical Guys and other brands.
• You can't wax the car or apply sealant. That said, there are matte-specific ceramic coatings (check out Gyeon). But if you like polishing paint and such, then matte paint is not for you. The most you could do to make it look "nicer" or add a little depth is get a matte-specific instant detailer-like spray. Chemical Guys makes some.

Where are you located where it takes BMW 2-3 weeks from west coast docking to dealership arrival? Asking for a friend in Arizona

My dealer said it has to go up from Oxnard CA to a distribution center in Renton WA before getting trucked down to the dealer in OR. Doesn’t make sense to me but whatever

I ordered the BMW M Performance M Logo Brake Caliper Clip Set from IND and a frozen black license plate holder.

Have you all thought of rubber floor mats etc yet? The carpet shows stuff really easily…been trying ti figure out what’s best but not sure if the mats people suggest are ok with manual transmission, it’s mostly those with autos who’ve posted about floor mats
