Post your egt - what temps are you hitting?

Using Bimmerlink: 200 cell rvg hfdp, bmc filters, xhp stage 3, custom tune hitting 770C ( 800+) on sustained pulls. Seems high!

On highway driving, I'm near 700C with 63F ambient.

I see 600C at normal driving and even low 1000C at pulls, 200cel DPs.. I hope this is just an estimation error

Damn, that's higher than mine was. I was creeping towards 800c. The highest temp gain was part throttle pulls. Try that next time.

I havent tuned my M4 yet but on my X3M running an E50 tune (9.96 1/4 mile pass) I was hitting 1800F.

I have seen various other logs from other folks, and different tuners. All are about the same.

If there is no EGT sensor then these temps are just displaying off a preprogrammed model in the calibration created on a bench/simulation. Cat temps/exhaust temps are looked up in a table based on various criteria like RPM/boost/load/etc for purposes like overtemp fuel enrichment and torque reduction. For example, 4500 RPMs at 25psi = 1700 C. Not, acutal temp from an EGT sensor.

Without a real EGT sensor, you are just reading from a table in the calibration, which, to me, is meaningless. Ethanol lowers EGT so for it to rise on a flex tune or with E in the system tells me EGT is just going up because it goes up in the reference table. The tuner has more than likely removed the extra enrichment or torque reduction associated with the EGT rise so the EGT doesn't really correspond with anything tangible anymore.

My previous car had an oil temp readout and cat temp without an actual sensor, so ya just assumptions not real data.
