One of their higher ups specifically said a few years ago, they are dropping the manual because the new engines make too much power. They don't like how the feel when they beef them up to handle a lot more power. The discussion was on the front page of this forum.

Epic? I hoping it will be legendary .....
Agreed, on all of your points you've made. But, I'm hoping it will be legendary, similar to the 2017 3.0 CSL show car at Pebble Beach.

No need to hide man. All things to all people.
I must admit though I wish the 2021 M4 I ordered looked similar to this. I do like the trim rings around the kidney grilles, which to my old eyes is reminiscent of older (classic) M series of cars. Who knows, maybe they will do something with this. But I would say this, should this be the future M4 CSL, I shall buy this, not will, but I shall buy this. Have fun !!

Agree with many others here. Fast or hyper fast it better be light or is not a CSL. Period.
The CS can be anything trackable but a CSL that ain’t light is a shameful thing. I’m really excited to hear more. Could be epic cars. |

Agreed on the $300K cost. However, the point I was hoping to convey is that what ever choices BMW made to reduce weight (example: Carbon fiber hood, trunk lid, less noise insulation, removing the rear seat, etc.) could be made to reduce weight for the M4 CSL. Consumer cost is another matter for M4 CSL. BMW would need to balance their cost target to the weight reduction goal for the consumer. Ultimately we'll find out what BMW has done to reduce weight and what neat features they'll incorporate for the M4 CSL.
