For those who got ther car in production with bucket seats, when did you initially place order?

I been waiting since December 22, week 18 build turns to 26, etc etc to now 42.

Brutal. Order placed end of June and allocation/production number received a few weeks later in June… of this year. Something isn’t right if this is really your timeline. Do you have a production number or are you still on the allocation waiting list?

Got a production number in March . Still waiting!
It’s been bouncing back and forth scheduled for production to order received several times.

I feel your pain somewhat. Placed my order October 16th received allocation in March. Originally was build week 26 and ended up getting delayed to build week 36. A lot of delays due to buckets, but now I have a VIN so I am clear

2024 M3 Comp Xdrive (was 2023)

Basically every option checked except the carbon brakes.

Dang sorry to hear that , I had a somewhat similar experience. My week 19 got delayed multiple times , ended up 31 . And I thought I had it bad . I’m sure there are plenty others .. we’re just a small % represented on these here forums.

Still don’t understand why BMW doesn’t prioritize older production #’s / allocations

Nothing on an M8 yet (it's 8/31)

I suspect we'll see nothing until Monday or so, the cars only take 2-3 days to get built.

I've been at the port since Aug 11.

Genius Line said fastest someone gets assigned a ship is 2.5 weeks, but average is a month. Then 2 weeks to cross the ocean and 2.5 weeks to reach dealer.

Best indicator that production will start the following week is the appearance of a VIN in your garage replacing your production number.

You get your VIN once you hit 150. That can be anytime before production begins and isn't really a great indicator of when you're going to see movement.

A better one is the production date on the build. The week 36 build I'm tracking has a prod date of 8/31, so that's about when you'd expect build to be completed. I'm expecting movement tomorrow or 8/30.

Where are you getting a production date? Does that get populated once you hit status 150?

It does. You can either get it through the developer console method (F12 in chrome, look at the response tab after refreshing, picking the correct "forward?targetURL" entry), or you can use the chrome extension trick.

2 days before seems like the magic number. 8/31 prod date build is now in the paint booth! (152)

My was the same week 18 yesterday was scheduled for week 37 now call genius move to week 46 😡
