We did not do a completely stock dyno because didn't want to heat up the exhaust before install. We went off stock dynos that have been posted such as from RK Tunes and PSI. 10-15WHP is a pretty accurate "guesstimate".

Thanks for the post and walkthrough, this seems like an excellent option, best sound I have heard yet from a G80. Bet it sounds even better in person for sure.

The Remus & Akrapovic mid-pipe are no longer an option because they're not sold here in the US anymore.

@barryc365 MOTs apply to cars once they are three years old and are annual after that.
Not sure about the sensor - on the F8x you just need to turn off the CEL warning once you fit the downpipes.

Ayyy we're twinning haha! Yeah, I saw you on their page! Looks like with just the mid-pipe it's 11 whp off from the stock Comp numbers. Lines up with what I'm saying about the 10-15 whp gain

I bought a valve controller while I await for this exhaust to be delivered. I've never used one before.
Does anyone have any experience with running a mid pipe and a valve controller? Is it a waste of time? I was thinking I can have the valve fully open all the time or fully closed with the baby is in the car etc? Does that make sense? Or unnecessary? Seems like this will behave ok in efficient mode anyway |

wow thats nice that there is room right in front to give one of the banks extra length for an equal-length design. The f8x chassis was murder to do this, you either had to do it near the rear axle or make a snake-like design on one bank to equalize both banks pulses.

Most retailers have stopped selling anything that deletes cats. Wholesalers stopped stocking them as well.

Oh, I thought something more specific to Akra.
The cat back doesn’t modify emissions equipment, neither does the short link pipe set. The long link pipe does, which is I imagine why Akra makes both SKUs. I’m aiming to at least get the cat-back Akra…. Maybe the short link pipe as well which replaces the factory resonator with their own. |

Apart from audio issues, is there anything special about this exhaust? I feel like any muffler shop can replicate this exhaust for far less. May or may not be aesthetically pretty with the welding, but seems doable. |

Exactly. Deleting the secondary cats won't cause a CEL but it will increase the cars emissions which the EPA doesn't like.
