I think if PMB wasn't an option, I wouldn't even be having this thought I liked it more than I expected both in pictures and in person. It's not my absolute perfect preference, but for the cost difference, I'm likely going to stick with PMB this time around... that is unless I see something else entirely new that catches my eye before the AWD allocations are available.
Well, yea, not exactly the same, but 1st cousins, perhaps even brothers. And yea, I agree, not 8x different.

My struggle when i think about individual paint... I love the idea of it...
1. I can't justify the cost for only having a car 3 years
2. I can't convince myself to keep a car more than 3 years

I probably need to push harder on 1 because i dont think i will ever win with #2 lol

If you lease, at least the extra cost is residualized.

If you finance (like me), then yes I agree on both of these points and have the same struggle!

I just did the visualizer and the Frozen Grey comes up as a serial paint not a special paint.

This is dream paint for me. Would kill for this. Is this possible to order? It's not listed on the site just white and Portimao Blue.

In Switzerland yes, don't know how it is in the US.
Best thing you download the pdf from the BMW website (price guide).

My dealer didn't say it would be an issue, but I'm waiting for awd. There is already one in the US though so should be fine.

The Visualizer linked is for the UK which is why it shows serial and not special most likely. Either way you can get it in the US as someone else stated.

Does anybody know if the paint to sample individual route BMW will consider tri-coats? I know those are generally more expensive paints so I'm not sure if they'll consider those. Just something I have been wondering lately.

I'm sure for the right amount of money it could be done. The most expensive individual paint available is the Pure Metal Silver which is a $10k option. The costs go higher if BMW has to research and develop the paint from scratch for you, which if I recall correctly from old posts around here is in the $15k range.

Gotcha, probably one of my favorite colors I ever had was Jetstream Blue on a C6 corvette, which if you ever saw it in person you'd see flips from almost an atlantis blue to an estoril blue look depending on the light and angles. It has a lot of purple in it as well. I always wondered what that would look like on an M3. Pretty sure that was a tricoat.

I flip flop on colors all the time. Currently have Santorini Blue on order, but I saw a Signal Green F80 the other day...man I'm tempted. I think my dream color on this car would be either Ultraviolet or Velvet Blue (neither an option on Individual).

Twilight purple would be awesome btw.
sick color.. can't wait to see.how much longer is the wait because you ordered the Santorini Blue? this is the color I was going to pull trigger on but didn't want to extend wait time

They told me individual colors were a 2 week lead time. I'm not sure at what point in the process that 2 weeks comes in as it sounds like mine should be built normal speed if their projected alleged completion date holds true. I'll believe it when it happens.

+1 I was told 2 weeks for individual paint as well.

I did attempt to order the interior with custom fiona red carbon buckets (the entire interior in black except the seats). I was told they would need to open a formal request (minimum of 2 weeks) and 14 weeks lead time to complete (assuming the request was approved). Ultimately decided it wasn't worth it.
