G80 6MT autocross weekend

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
It was my first time autocrossing.. I am a big track guy. but this was fun. get to know the limit on what the car can do.

anyways it was my friend who told me to join him. 2 x M2C , 228 , m340i , Civic-R.

with the other M2C , and 228 being regulars at autocross. I have expect them to have quick times.

There was 2 different track layout morning and afternoon.
I took me 2 laps to have quicker time than them...
the 228 was even quicker that M2c.

The M3 was amazing... what it can do.. and all nannies , DSC off..
all M-Setting is max out. expect for suspension it was sport only. should have tried SportPlus, was told in passed softer will gain faster time. "Stasis Motorsport"

for ref.
morning session my quickest.
M3-47.32
M2C-48.xx
228-47.xx
others
M3 V8 - avg 50.xx-53.xx
RS5 - 46.xx-47.xx
RS3 = 49.xx
Fastest. EVO MR Modded - 43.xx

afternoon Session
M3=38.38
M2C=40.6
228=39.xx
others
M3 V8 = avg 42.xx-44.xx
RS5 = 37.xx-39.xx
RS3 = 39.xx-40.xx
Fastest EVO MR Modded - 34.xx

End of day. It was a blast. Deciding now either Auto-x or Big Track on the next run...

My passenger ride was a M-coupe Drifter

Nice! Which group hosted this? I was at Sonoma to pick up some stuff from Wine Country and I stopped to watch the AutoX for a bit.

thanks for the video, let me suggest a helmet mounted camera for auto-x next time to keep our motion sickness at bay

I thought a helmet cam would be worst...

I will try it next time...

Well I suppose it depends on the person wearing the helmet, but on a tight course like auto-x I find it to be a little less unsettling assuming the driver is looking through the turns vs a fixed camera getting the feeling of you blindly whipping around a corner. A fixed rear window mount type position giving a little more context and a wider angle helps with that too.
