Exterior Color Configurator Poll

Hey all. I'm curious to see what the break down in numbers are for the top 3 colors configured for G8x. Let's see where things stand--I'm wondering if one of the grey variants will be in the lead.

Cheers!

It was an option for ‘23. Just got the Dr Beasley’s ceramic done late into the night last night. Nice little 8 hour project.

Went for SSG to hide some dirt during the summer months and not have to be a salt hound in the winter (live in the northeast). Plus doesn't stand out on the highway and hopefully buys me an extra second or 2 to brake when the Uniden starts making noise

I see a variety of colors around Newport Beach / Orange County. Especially at Cars & Coffee where there are always a selection of G8x that show up, very rarely are there any that are the same color.

I've listed it as an individual color--not sure if it is specific to M3 vs M4.

Thanks to all who have voted and posted! Out of 50 votes so far, it looks like a tie between Isle of Man Green and BMW Individual color. And nice to see Portimao Blue representing in 3rd place. Perhaps in the days ahead, we'll see a more representative stat on which color dominates.

Cheers!

Here in the DMV, I've seen every non-Individual color in the flesh except Aventurin Red, Frozen Brilliant White, and Frozen Pure Grey II. Anecdotally, there's a ton of color variation. It's nice to see something other than the German Rainbow...

Dang...65 votes in and it seems that peeps went the "custom" color route within BMW Individual Color offerings. Isle of Man is coming in 2nd and now Black Sapphire is in 3rd.

Heh...nearly my same reasons. Well, mostly for hiding dirt and the extra few seconds on the road once the R7 goes off

Results are of course heavily skewed here on the forums for individual colors.

True...but collectively across the Greys, it looks like they would slightly edge out the BMW individual colors. I assumed that peeps would not want to add to the build time for their ride, but hey, if you can customize, why not!

Thanks to all who have voted so far! So at 100 votes in, it would seem that the category leader is the BMW Individual Color route with 25% of the votes. Isle of Man Green is in 2nd place with 15% of the votes and Skyscraper Grey in 3rd place with 11% of the votes just edging out Brooklyn Grey (10%).

When grouping the pre-spec'd colors together into the primary colors, the breakdown would be:

White: 4%
Yellow: 2%
Black: 8%
Blue: 15%
Red: 2%
Green: 15%
Grey: 29%

Speaks pretty highly of IOMG that it got more than half as many votes as all four greys combined, especially given that green in general is not a super popular color.

Not surprised though, it's gorgeous.

Thanks for doing this. I wonder how this corresponds to actual production figures. Since this is an enthusiast forum, it makes sense that Individual is 25% of orders here when Individual colors are otherwise very rare in the wild. I would think the top 5 colors would be some ordering of:

Alpine White
Skyscraper Grey
Brooklyn Grey
Black Sapphire
Dravit Gray

IOMG is one of the best standard color offerings to come along in a while. I could easily see it being a color that people pick off the individual list of colors years later.

Love the Tanzanite II when clean, but it's a dust magnet. Worse when you live off a gravel road. Name: IMG_1318.jpg

Now all color categories have representation--even if it is just 1 vote.

Out of 130 votes, the BMW Individual Color route is the clear leader at this point with 26% of the votes. Isle of Man Green is holding 2nd place with 12% of the votes and a two-way tie for 3rd place between Skyscraper Grey and Black Sapphire with 10% each.
