This is just cruel to US wagon fans

Would love to trade in my X3M for this
Almost the same practicality and probably 300-400 lbs less weight.

either make the M4 gran coupe or bring the wagon here.

If this really was an developed only in 2019 as the video makes it sounds, the whole non-US thing makes more sense: By then, the decision to not bring the regular G21 touring stateside was long done, and homologation of just the G81 was out of the question due to the prohibitive costs per unit (I think lemetier mentioned something north of 20k per vehicle or so).

I wonder what happens to he upcoming 5er and whether BMW/BMWNA learnt something and will make a bigger effort there...

I'm in the market...I am the target market. Lol
Manual only though and I'll even buy it with that nose. Now THAT is a strong statement.

I don‘t get it. Nobody in the US wants to drive a wagon, percentage wise those are neglectable, right? And if I want to drive a sportscar, even less reasons to chose one. Next thing is the Active Tourer M Van I guess. BMW should stick to a fewer number of iconic models and not try to serve every niche. Just my 2 cents.

I am all for it as well especiallly in an x-drive manual version. It will fill a void where MB and Audi lacks on the States side. RS5 sportback is the closest competitor to the M3 Touring here but an actual wagon would be awesome just like the RS6.

I am worried about the pricing where it would be north of $90K-95K for a well optioned competiton package M3 X-wagon. Will SUV crazy US buyers skip the X3M and go for this in big or big enough numbers for BMWUSA to bring it here is the real question. I have an X3MC on order and would have definelty waited for the wagon even with the ugly nostrils.

Lets be honest, apart from a few zealots here (most of whom say theyd buy this, probably wouldnt), this wont sell in the North American market. People here would buy an X3M over an M3 wagon 99.999% of the time. I hate the BMW SUVs but im aware that im in the minority and would never expect BMW to waste their time releasing this wagon here.

I'm with you.

The shape and proportions of the car are just hideous, and I totally don't understand why anyone would ever want to buy a 'touring' (not trying to offend anyone on here).

As the owner of multiple Mercedes E63 wagons - including the newest version - no other car I’ve ever owned elicits the kind of response I get from car enthusiasts than I get with the wagon. Bring it to US. People will buy it.

And the torture of enthusiasts in the USA continues...

I’m super excited for those of you who will get to own one and hope you will give us plenty of pics and vids once it’s unleashed!

In Germany, wagon's ("touring's") are viewed as utilitarian. We purchased a 5 series touring ///M spec'ed, not only because of its multipurpose use, but also due to it's road manners as compared to SUVs. I've tested BMW/Mercedes/Cadillac/Lincoln/Volvo SUVs and can say anecdotally, the wagon "feels" better.

It will be funny if they somehow do the crash tests in secret, and reveal that it is coming to the US as a surprise.
