First Impression of the M Carbon Bucket Seats
I was allowed to sit in a G82 today with the carbon fiber seats. First, Yas Marina Blue leather is beautiful in person. However, the seats are not comfortable at all. Felt like I sitting on concrete. Limited seat position control to adjust, only side bolsters, no lumbar support, as more of a fix shell seat. The center carbon piece can bother a male. I was considering ordering the carbon bucket seats with my G83 ZCP, but I will not now after spending some time in the actual seat. Not practicable in my opinion.

My previous F83 competition had the series seats, as the competition seats were not offered. I would say the G82 carbon fiber bucket are worse than the F82 competition due to the center carbon bulge, as I did quite a few track trainings over in Germany with BMW M with the F82 ZCP. But this could change when the car is actually driven.

To me this new generation brings five main upgrades.
1. Grip. 2. Power. 3. AWD. 4. CF seats. 5. Fresh styling. If I get one I’m definately aiming at getting all of it unless the seats give severe back fatigue, something I won’t be able to know from a test drive, so I would take the chance... |

The "real" M seats were only in the F80 and F82.

The base F80/F82 ///M seats have optional adjustable lumbar support and side bolstering (made standard in most markets), the ///M sport seats found in the F80/82 competition and cs (with the backrest cutouts) cannot be had with adjustable lumbar support but do have the adjustable side bolstering.
The F83 does not have the “true” ///M seats and simply goes with the standard F33 seats albeit with some trim (M4 logo and merino leather).

Someone mentioned the carbon bulge can be removed. Is that true?

I think this is going to come down to personal preference after trying them out. Scorpion in his thread today said they were comfortable and he was a big guy who drove the car rather than just sat in it. He did mention the bulge though so that's definitely something of note.

I like how the prototypes still have the SUV in the instrument cluster. I think pretty well all of them are like this. I imagine that they hadn't added the M3/M4 graphics to the displays at the time of the prototypes.
