My previous G82 Comp with -2.5 camber and without the MPHAS would sometimes squirm a bit under heavy braking, but it was easy to control and never a problem. My new one with -3.1 and the MPHAS kit is rock steady under all braking situations. Stiffer springs? Who knows? Three variables have changed: Stiffer springs; lower ride height; and more camber. I'm just the driver, not an engineer. The overall change in the braking zones and turns is noticeable though, and welcome.

That's good news, what is your rear alignment?

Here are some pics of my tire wear and camber although the camber is difficult to see due to the angle of the sun. the tire wear represents 360 track miles and 3,750 road miles. I'm throwing in the alignment just for chuckles.

Beautiful wear, we almost have the same alignment now, I am at -3.0 camber front 0 toe and -2.0 camber rear toe is very close with yours being around 0.13 each side and mine 0.10.

So the lower center of gravity and stiffer springs could explain some of the difference. I am also thinking about doing front monoballs, the rubber bushing deflection surely changes the toe in certain situations and could help have a better feeling of confidence in our inputs.

So I can only state that in comfort the ride is nice and firm, but i Sport its hard and sport+ would be harsh. I feel its just soft enough for a pleasant cruise. Sport is a nice m1 settings for some carving and of course sport+ is for a smooth track otherwise I think it woud start to hop.

Just ordered the kit today, was at the track yesterday and even if the car was impressively fast for a stock (except camber plates) car the OEM suspension wasn't as confidence inspiring as I would of liked, hoping MP HAS + Front monoballs will up to the level I'm looking for.

You sound as if you are primarily interested in tracking your car, so I will add only one piece of additional advice. When setting up the ride height use the settings (or as close as you can get to them) recommended by BMW. These settings are specifically for achieving the best cornering performance on a racetrack, and were arrived at through hundreds of hours of testing on numerous tracks by people who know their shit.

Do it right and you will be much impressed by how the car feels the next time you are on track. Personally I feel that monoballs are rather expensive overkill, but hey, it's your car. Be happy.

I just did day #5 on track at Homestead yesterday (total now is 500 miles) and the additional wear is slight. Day #6 will be next Sunday (with full confidence), and I will see how it goes from there.

Thanks for the advice

The Millway ones (Monoballs) are more reasonably priced than the others, I wasn't aware of them until last week. It's more about adding feel in the steering, next step is a re-wrap in Alcantara without all the cushioning.

I was planning on following the instructions strictly and maybe even having the kit installed at a shop that preps track cars so they could corner balance it and adjust the alignment around my weight alone in the car. I don't think it could get any better than that.

If I end up in a hurry I will just install them per BMW instructions, I don't care for any look/stance stuff.

Sorry, I read "monoballs" as tie rods and other suspension components with steel ends, not the spherical bearing in the top of the camber plate. I know that Millway offers both polyurethane and steel bearings but I prefer steel for track wear longevity. I have always used Vorshlag personally and have been satisfied with their performance.

I think he's referring to replacing the front thrust arm bushings with monoballs, not the monoballs on the camber plate. It's a common mod on many generations of M3/M4s. BMW has gotten better over the years with the stock bushings, but there is still deflection stock (for comfort reasons).

Yes I was talking about the front trust arm bushings, they made a huge difference in my M340i, the steering basically went from luxury car to a similar feeling as my M2. I don't expect the same drastic difference in the G80 but every bit helps.

I use Millway street camber plates, they use the OEM plastic bearing, they offer a more direct feel but without as much added NVH from pillow all type. I did have Vorchlag in my M2 and found them rattly and had to regrease them 2x.

Everyone has different experiences with their cars and products. In my own experience with Vorshlag camber plates on 3 BMW's over the last 5 years I have never heard a sound from them, nor have they ever needed maintenance or adjustment in any way.
