So I ordered DFC 5000 pads from parts geek. That's all that was in stock. I went to have them installed today and they were the wrong size. I ordered a new set of DFC 3000 from buy brakes today. We will see if these work.

That's odd, I have the DFC 3000 ceramic pads and installed the day I got car. Installed perfectly and on car since December.

Great info in this thread, everyone!

Looking into CT pads.. a little pricey for their street pad (equivalent to OE), I'm assuming they offer fronts and rears.

Just ordered the Carbotech brake pads. A representative from Carbotech called to verify order and take payment. She mentioned that the Carbotech are direct fit on the M4 competition since they laser scanned the BMW G8x OEM brake pads to create a duplicate. This way they can ensure that the Carbotech fit the same as OEM pads. Pads should be shipped out in a few days.

Please let us know how's the stopping performance vs OE, and noise and dust.

Fronts should be easy, but with the rear EPB, it maybe bit time consuming. Found this video on 340i, should be similar to G8x.

I installed DFC 500 pads yesterday and they perfectly fit !

In fact it was just to confirm what the DFC support said to me. The pads are the same for any type of brake system.

Let me know what type of dust they leave on wheels after a week. This is mine on DFC 3000 pads.

Time is not a good measurement me think. I could drive a week, yet less than somebody driving in a day or 2. May need to have distance as the main factor.

Our local street are also really dirty with lots of trucks.

Those with bronze / satin gold finished wheels are best to hide it. Our black ones are the worst.

My DFC 3000 ceramic pads should be here next week.

Do the brake sensors easily clip on to the DFC pads?

Yep, just a simple clip on. But it took me over 1h each wheel, as I did the brake / wheel ceramic coating and clean up while removing them. So you wanna prepare yourself plenty of time while doing it. Also treat some Bendix ceramic grease on some metal contact points.

Initial impression : Brake is quiet as a mouse, the haunting squeaky sound is no more. A bit less bite than stock pads, but that is expected.

I prefer the brake feel more now but I'm not tracking my car and know how to modulate.
