Hey all! I decided yesterday was time to start the process of ordering my first M3. I went to Fields and put down a deposit, they said I’m 10th in line and it might be 1.5-2years. Obviously that wasn’t gonna cut it.

I drove up to Knauz and did the same, where I was told I’m 2nd on the list! It honestly seemed too good to be true but they seemed confident I’d have an allocation in a month or two. Anyone have experience with Knauz for M3 allocations? Should I keep looking elsewhere or be happy with #2?

I’m not in much of a rush, just hopeful to have the car by spring-fall 2024. We’re doing PCD pickup, so I guess if Knauz doesn’t pull thru, I could always expand my search…

Allocations that come in monthly (towards the end of the month) are random, so, can’t really predict the dealer that will get them.

There’s Day Laborer and a couple of other brokers on the site, in case you want to pay a smallish fee to get an allocation now. But, seems like number 2 in line isn’t a bad spot to be, if you’re waiting till next year. Of course, the earlier the build, the more likely it’ll be a MY ‘24. If you wait till July of ‘24, you’ll more than likely get LCI MY’25. No real details about the LCI, just yet, but if you like tech upgrades/lighting upgrades, etc., then wait for the ‘25.

I put my deposit in May through Knauz, I was told I was third in line, and got the allocation in June, picking up this weekend. They do have decent amount of allocation I think

Motorworks in Barrington seems to get 1-3 allocations per month (except a month or so ago when there were zero nationwide), and had a very short list when I was there two months ago.

Spencer is my sales rep, but chatted with a few folks and they honestly all seemed great!

I just got the call that my allocation was available! It only took two short months! Now the waiting really begins…

I second this. Matt just got me an allocation and he’s very knowledgeable. I would recommend anyone looking for a BMW, to reach out to him.
